Bye, bye 2024! This year was a milestone for our label. We released more music than ever before and much more important than the quantity: we’re still astonished by the quality of all that music. Ngl we’re still fan boys! You can witness another aspect of our fanboydom by listening to 11 more hours of radio recorded in 2024 (all available on our SoundCloud). Through our show we showcase all that jazz (or rather all that multi-genre-extravaganza) we love so much. And the show is probably the closest you can get to understanding our musical universe — and why our releases are musically so diverse.
One goal we wanted to actively work towards to in 2024 was creating more events to experience the music from our label communally and in person. So we organized listening sessions for DJ Swagger’s „Chemistry Forever“ in Berlin and Bielefeld last Spring and two more with our newest Kommerz members Dim Fumes and Calida Ray during the second half of the year. Plus, we got invited to do a label night in Frankfurt (so intimate!) and hosted another one (for the books!) in Berlin just a few weeks ago. Witnessing how all of you react to the music in person, seeing your faces, seeing you move, feels otherworldly. Thanks so much to everyone who was with us and supported independent art straight outta heart!

Thanks for the music, @therealdjswagger, @dim.fumes, @calidaray_, @noaerni, @nardosays and @luggeisforthechildren! 💖
Special s/o to @joellejaermann, @tilius.xyz, @piahenkel, @shi__knows and @dave_rt_! ⛹🏻‍♀️
And big, big hugs to everyone else having our back — you know who you are! 🫂

To an even better 2025!

Luv,
ur Kommerz brothers, Lukas & Jonathan

Today’s Daily Yinz is “STANDBY” by @noaerni and @nardosays. The result of transcontinental collaboration, the track morphs from freeform tranquility to wonky, futuristic knock. Check out the track and full write-up at Bored In Pittsburgh (link in bio).

For our latest radio episode we sat down with @noaerni and @nardosays , who just released their gorgeous mini-album „BEAMS, SCREENS & THE SOUND OF LOVE“ via Kommerz Records. Plus: bass player @graetschuar gets a cameo appearance. Noa Erni, producer and composer in Berlin, and Nardo, singer, songwriter and rapper in Pittsburgh, are an unconventional artist duo: Both are in their 40s, cherish their secluded „stay at home“-lifestyles, which gives them time to work on their music after coming home from work. On top, we played some old and new music, including more Kommerz releases from @dim.fumes s and @calidaray_ .

For the last show of the year we invited Kommerz artists Noa Erni and Nardo Says to talk about their new album „BEAMS, SCREEN & THE SOUND OF LOVE“. On top, we play some of our most recents favorites from likes of 070 Shake, Saya Gray and Jay Orbison

BEAMS, SCREENS & THE SOUND OF LOVE by @noaerni & @nardosays out now!

From all of the music Noa has shown me (and onto which I added Bass), his productions with Nardo‘s vocals always stood out. Both care so much about their art and have the wisdom not to rush things. They’d rather trust in the longevity of their vision.

I‘m proud to have been invited by them to play a part in the EP, by adding bass to the majority of it, developing some of the lines myself and also lending my ear to the whole thing when needed.

Do yourself a favor and check it out!

Exactly three years ago we released Noa Erni‘s „The Mental Traveller” LP. It was the first album on Kommerz Records and also the biggest group effort so far.
On the music side it has features from legend @countbassd, long time collaborators @milesbonny, @s_fidelity, @shamirofwolm, @robot.orchestra and @nardosays.
For the visual side we put together a team of creatives to build a whole universe around the album:
@benediktluft made the beautiful cover illustration.
@dominikkeller_of put at magic graphic spell on it
@sms_3d brought it all to live with their real world 3D videos. For which we gathered the help from @rianneshoots and @archibald_opteryx to DOP the studio footage.
Check out the documentation we made with @noaerni to introduce him a little surrounding the release of the album. You find it on our YouTube via the link in bio.

FYI: NEW NOA ERNI MATERIAL COMING SOON 🤫
