🥇 Escher Laufkotter (U15) – 1st Nationals, 1st South Island
🥈 Amelie Laufkotter (U16) – 4th Nationals, 2nd South Island

These are some incredible results from our young riders and a fantastic way to finish off an awesome couple of weeks of racing!
NTS Round 2 🔥
Four of our riders stayed down south to compete at NTS Round 2. This event isn’t all about results, but focuses on developing skills, learning from coaches and becoming the best track racers they can be.
Escher Laufkotter, Amelie Laufkotter, Noah Eden and Lucas Ippolito all had an amazing experience, with Lucas and Noah qualifying for A Grade, Escher making B Grade, and Amelie putting in a very impressive performance in her grade.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make these events possible, and especially to @bikesbyfelix for supporting our riders and keeping their bikes running speedy! 🚴‍♂️💨
What an awesome way to wrap up two weeks of racing down south! 👏

Nationals / South Island Track Champs 2026

What an event! My legs were definitely feeling it after a few tough days at Yunca, but I’m extremely happy to finally say that I’m a National Champion.

1st – Nationals
1st – South Island Champs

None of this would have been possible without the people behind the scenes who have helped me get here.

A huge thanks to my coach @gregfraine for helping me improve so much, @stumac21 for helping me with my tactics throughout the week, and @ja.craig72 for all the work behind the scenes with bike setup and all the little things that make a difference.

Thanks to @bikesbyfelix for keeping my bike running smoothly and helping make changes to get every bit of speed out of it.

And last but definitely not least, my parents. Thank you for believing in me since day one and always supporting me in this sport. I couldn’t do it without you all.

Our team had an amazing time down south at the 2026 @yuncajuniortourofsouthland

The 6 stage 3 day tour gave our riders some brilliant learning experiences and some excellent results. Day one of the tour was a typical Southland day, with lots of wind and rain. Day two tested our riders endurance with longer and harder stages. And finally day three was wrapped up with an exciting criterium, testing our riders bike handling skills.

As well as learning heaps our riders also got some amazing results:

George MacDonald U13
Our youngest rider getting 2nd on GC on his first tour

Escher Laufkotter U15
4th on GC

Noah Eden U17
20th on GC against some tough Australian competition

Lucas Ippolito U17
15th on GC

Amelie Laufkotter U17
26th on GC also against some tough Australian riders

Noah Johnson U20
7th GC

Great work from the team as this was the first time doing YUNCA for some of the riders. Thank you so much to our teams main sponsors: Bikes By Felix, Cube NZ and Uvex. Of course this trip would not have been possible without the parents, supporters, mechanic and coach who got our riders and equipment down to Invercargill and running smoothly.

Yunca Junior Tour 2026 🇳🇿

My new favourite road race. Had the best time racing down south over the last 3 days, learning heaps, racing hard and making some new friends.

Typical Southland weather, but that’s racing 😂 Huge thanks to the @auscyclingteam development team for sending their top riders and making the tour even harder.

Finished 20th (+43 sec), which I’m pretty happy with, but definitely would’ve liked a bit more.

Massive thanks to @bikesbyfelix and my family for getting me sorted and helping me make it down to this event.
