It was an honor to represent Tarrant County Precinct One at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 55th Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.

ALC is an opportunity to connect with leaders from across the country, exchange ideas, and strengthen the relationships that help us better serve our communities.

I’m bringing those conversations home as we continue working to expand opportunity, improve access to essential services, and ensure the people of Precinct One are seen, heard, and valued.

Your Priorities. Our Commitment.

🚨 Commissioner Roderick Miles Jr. took Tarrant County’s fight for voting access to a national audience this morning joining @democracynow to talk about the decision to eliminate more than 90 voting locations ahead of November.

This isn’t just about buildings on a map. It’s about who can get to the ballot box and who can’t.

County officials do not own the electoral process. We are its stewards. The polling places we approve do not belong to Commissioners Court, the Election Administration office or any political party. They belong to the people. Link to full article in bio.

Leadership is about bringing people together creating a collective movement to propel the future forward. 🚀

Honored to convene county leaders from across the country at the NOBCO Membership Meeting during the NACo Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.

Many members shared that this was one of our strongest meetings yet.

Grateful for the conversation, the collaboration, and the never ceasing work ahead.

See many of you next in Maui for NOBCO’s 40th Annual Economic Development Conference. 🙏🏽

From the Tarrant County Commissioners Court to the Texas State Capitol and the U.S. Capitol, I am proud to represent the residents of Tarrant County, especially the constituents of Precinct One.

It was a productive week at the National Association of Counties Legislative Conference, and an honor to stand alongside my fellow board members of the National Organization of Black County Officials as we worked to elevate issues impacting our communities.

Serving and advocating on behalf of Tarrant County remains a responsibility I carry with great pride. #wearecounties

🔥 Fireside Chat at NACo | NOBCO Panel

Honored to participate in a powerful fireside conversation at the National Association of Counties @nacocounties conference hosted by National Organization of Black County Officials @nobcoinc.

I had the opportunity to sit down with the Clerk of Cook County @cookcountyclerk, Illinois, Monica Gordon, for a candid discussion on election integrity, public trust, and the recent FBI raid on Fulton County’s elections warehouse.

We discussed:
🗳️ Protecting the chain of custody
📑 Transparency in election administration
⚖️ The legal tools counties can use to defend voter data
🇺🇸 Restoring and maintaining public confidence in our democratic process

As county leaders, we must stand firm in protecting the sacred trust between voters and the election system. Integrity is not partisan — it is foundational to democracy.
Appreciate NOBCO and NACo for creating space for real dialogue on issues impacting counties across the nation.

🇺🇸 2026 NACo Legislative Conference Recap
Honored to represent Fulton County at the 2026 Legislative Conference of the National Association of Counties (NACo) in Washington, D.C. 🇺🇸

County governments are on the front lines — delivering healthcare, public safety, housing, transportation, and economic opportunity.

NACo gives counties a unified voice to advocate for the federal resources and policy flexibility we need to serve our residents effectively.

This year’s priorities included:
✅ Protecting local decision-making authority
✅ Securing federal infrastructure and transit funding
✅ Strengthening behavioral health and crisis response systems
✅ Addressing housing affordability and homelessness
✅ Supporting veterans and senior services
✅ Protecting the integrity of our elections and public institutions

As Fulton County continues to lead in innovation and growth, it is critical that we remain engaged at the national level. Federal policy decisions have local consequences — and I will always ensure Fulton County has a strong voice at the table.

Thanks to @nobcoinc I spoke on a panel about election integration amd got the opportunity to share how Fukton County is pushing back and to share with other counties how they can be better prepared than we were.

Leadership. Advocacy. Results.

It was a true honor to join my first GM Parade of Lights as your County Commissioner a night glowing with community, joy, and holiday magic.

Thank you to the hardworking Precinct One team for getting our float ready, and a special shoutout to the YMLA Scholars for volunteering their time during Thanksgiving. Your energy and heart made the parade brighter and reminded us all what public service is really about.

Proud to serve a community that shows up, lights up, and lifts each other up.
