4 REASONS ULTRA-PROCESSED FOOD IS KILLING YOUR PERFORMANCE AS AN ATHLETE.

You can’t build an elite, athletic body on a poor foundation.

Calories matter—but where they come from matters too.

1. BUILDING MUSCLE REQUIRES THE RIGHT BUILDING BLOCKS
Your body needs protein, vitamins, minerals, quality carbs, fats, and energy to repair and build muscle. If processed, nutrient-poor foods make up the base of your diet, you’re giving your body calories without enough of the raw materials it needs to perform and recover. If you want quality tissue (muscle), give your body quality ingredients!

2. INFLAMMATION IMPACTS RECOVERY
Training already stresses your body. A diet dominated by ultra-processed, fried, and sugary foods can promote a more inflammatory environment and crowd out nutrients that support recovery. Crappy food = crappy recovery.

3. YOUR GUT AFFECTS PERFORMANCE
Poor food quality can mean bloating, sluggish digestion, GI issues, and inconsistent energy. Better digestion = better fueling, training, and recovery.

4. CHAOTIC EATING = CHAOTIC PERFORMANCE
Random meals create unpredictable energy, digestion, and workouts. Athletes need consistency. Consistent inputs create more consistent performance outputs.

🍦 Ice cream carbs ≠ banana carbs.
🍟 Fried fast food ≠ grilled steak, chicken, eggs, fish, or Greek yogurt.
🥤 Soda ≠ water.

😉You can include processed foods—but they shouldn’t be your foundation.

If you want to perform like an athlete, fuel and recover like one!

Wellness Wednesday tip: Stop starting your day in a deficit.

Most people don't miss their protein goal at dinner — they miss it at 7am, then spend all day catching up.

The fix: find a protein shake or collagen you can stir right into your coffee, and pair it with a carb like a banana or a handful of blueberries. Two minutes, no blender, and you've banked protein and carbs before the day gets loud. Real energy instead of a caffeine crash. ⚡️

Your morning sets the direction. Point it the right way. 💪

🔥 WHAT IF YOU ATE ONLY THESE FOODS FOR 30 DAYS?

These foods topped the list in a recent poll asking natural bodybuilders what foods they eat most often.

Nothing fancy. Mostly proteins, carbs, healthy fats, fruits and vegetables. Bodybuilders don’t overcomplicate their food, eat single ingredient foods that can be tracked and measured easily, and typically eat combinations of these foods for meals such as:
1) ground beef, potatoes, and broccoli
2) white fish, rice, and zucchini
3) plain Greek yogurt and berries

So here’s the question:

What would YOUR pros and cons be if you ate only from this list for the next 30 days?

What would be easy?
What would be hard?
What would you miss?
How would you feel?
What do you think would change?

Think about your WANTS, WILLINGS & WON’TS.

What do you want badly enough that you’re willing to change—and what are you simply not willing to give up?

🔥 Drop your biggest PRO and CON below.

Wellness Wednesday- Let’s talk about small diet hacks that can make a BIG difference!

1) Season, don’t sauce. Sauces bring added calories, sugar, dyes, inflammatory oils, and gums, plus they don’t fill you up. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather eat more volume and filling foods that will nourish my body. If you MUST, try things like mustard, salsa, and endless possibilities of seasoning and herbs.
2) Beware of “health halo foods.” Just because it says it has whole grains, protein, or fiber doesn’t mean it’s a health food. A “protein cookie” is still a cookie. Choose SINGLE ingredient foods and read your labels.
3) Choose fruit, vegetables, and single ingredient whole grains like rice or oats as your main carb source. Skip the processed junk with 100 ingredients that won’t fill you up.
4) If and when you choose alcohol, desserts, or other red light foods, make sure you REALLY want them and it’s a special occasion. Tuesday afternoon at work is not a special occasion, therefore there is probably a better snack option than cookies. A wedding, anniversary, or birthday is special. Have the cake!

What are some other health hacks you can think of?

Motivation Monday: This is YOUR journey!

Eating healthy is hard enough… but it gets even harder when the people around you don’t have the same goals.

Maybe it’s your kids asking for snacks, your spouse bringing home takeout, or friends wondering why you’re “being so strict.” The pressure is real.

Here are 3 things to remember:

🥗 1. Their choices don’t have to become your choices.
You can love and support your family without eating exactly what they’re eating.

💪 2. Lead by example, not by force.
You can’t make someone else eat healthy, but you can show them how good it feels.

🎯 3. Remember your “why.”
When you’re clear on why you started—more energy, better health, being around longer for your family—it’s easier to say no to the pressure.

You don’t need everyone around you to be on the same journey. You just need to stay committed to yours.
