Thank you @columbiachi for gracing me with the honor of becoming a graduate of your Dance and Media Program. This has been the hardest yet most rewarding path I’ve taken thus far and I couldn’t be more blessed. Thank you @dancecenterccc for the theater and each studio where my made life long memories I’ll never forget, thank you to each Professor who taught me not only dance lessons but life lessons that I will cherish. Thank you God and my ancestors for blessing me with my gifts of movement and creation!🙂‍↕️🥹🤏🏽

OFFICIALLY DEGREED 🎓✅💃🏾🙏🏾

First Generation Graduate With A Bachelors Degree In Art And Dance From Columbia College Chicago Performing Arts School ✨💫

Just know this journey from the very beginning was never easy for me from moving from Louisiana 16 hours away from home completely alone with nothing but a schedule and a suitcase with a dream. I have come such a long way and I proved to myself that I could and I did. I have made a name for myself. Every goal I set with moving to Chicago I can proudly say I have accomplished them all with the grace of God. And my journey is just beginning❕

Thank you to everyone that took a chance on little ole me while I made my rain in Chicago you’ll were apart of the hardest but most rewarding 4 years of my life🌟

Thank you to all of my chosen family and friends I have made along the way you keep me going and I am forever grateful to have you❤️

JUST KNOW THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING AND YOU WILL BE HEARING MY NAME AGAIN IN HIGH PLACES COMING VERY SOON IN JESUS NAME 🙏🏾

Photoshoot coming very soon so be on the lookout ⏰⏰

A year later, but still feeling every moment of this piece.💕💕
I’m really proud of the work that went into bringing this to life—the hours, the intention, and the growth behind it all. Grateful for the mentors who guided me through the process and helped shape the vision into something real, and even more grateful for my dancers whose energy, commitment, and vibe made every rehearsal and performance unforgettable.
This one means a lot. Honored to finally share the full piece.

Asé: The Calling made its Milwaukee premiere at (W)hereFest last week. This work was born in a moment of uncertainty when I questioned my path, my purpose, and if dance was truly for me. Through the voices of my community, the unwavering love of my family, and the calling God placed on my life, I was reminded: this is where I’m meant to be.

In this piece, I am guided by four ancestral spirits pulling me back, realigning me, and reminding me who I am.
