POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Viva a arte! ❤️

Last week I travelled to Germany for the premiere of the documentary I AM AMOS by Christian Peitscher @pietscherfilm , at the HEIMAT EUROPA Film Festival.

The film tells our family story, focusing on my dad, Amos, who left Israel (occupied Palestine) and returned to live in Germany, the country his parents fled from during the Nazi era.

At one point in the film, my dad says:
“I don’t want to live as a Jew, or an Israeli, or a German. I want to live as Amos.”

This really sums up a lot for me too. I want to live as a human being in this world, beyond labels, borders and the stories we inherited.

The soundtrack of the film is my music, featuring songs from my album IMA and my previous album with Vocal Global, L’Odyssée (available on bandcamp). It’s the first time my music has been featured in a film, and it was incredibly moving to hear it alongside our family story. Somehow, the music helped tell something that words couldn’t.

Our family doesn’t really have one place, one country or one home, and perhaps, like our grandparents, we never will. But we have our love for each other, for life and for humanity.

Let’s try to keep that humanity alive.
This is also where the name of my next album, ‘Rehumanise’, comes from. More on that soon. ❤️

It was so heartwarming to see the cinema full, people staying for the discussion, being touched by the story and the music, and taking home CDs. Thank you. ❤️

I hope this story can inspire more people to share their personal stories, listen to each other, and create more human connection in this troubled world.
We need it now more than ever.

Thanks @pietscherfilm for your amazing hard work on this film!
Follow him to know where you can watch it soon @iamamosfilm @pietscherfilm 🎬🙏🏼

I don’t often perform on the piano, as I’m not a pianist, but that’s how this song “Ima” (“Mother”) was born… and most of my songs too.

Here’s a part of yesterday’s performance - raw but real - at my favourite home in São Paulo, @institutojucadecultura . After all, it was Mother’s Day… I had to play it.

Thanks Fred for capturing this moment, and Paulo for opening your house and bringing people together again and again 🤍

When women come together, our power is enormous and limitless.
When I imagine a world run by women, it’s hard for me to imagine bombs and endless wars.

I can only speak from my personal experience: I’m lucky to be surrounded by incredible women: friends, family, true inspirations in my life and a reason for hope in a world where humanity sometimes feels like a distant word and a faraway goal.

Three years ago I released the song “Ima” (Mother), dedicated to my mum who passed away in 2022. The music video was created with a group of powerful women I love and admire - coming together to reflect, connect and create with intention, attention, and love ❤️ @ossi_ritter @aquarelavero @selinawrios @toria_m_ @sharoni.yael

We need more of that in the world. Every day!

Happy International Women’s Day. ✨

THANK YOU to everyone who came to our last gig of the tour 🤍

What a beautiful way to finish 5 gigs across the UK at The Beautiful @musictree_uk , surrounded by so many old and new friends 🙏

Embrace Me EP is a project that gave us space to share vulnerability in its rawest form.
Just bass and voice, sharing our love story with all its imperfections.

We hope it inspires more people to be their authentic selves, to connect with others, and to create art from that place.

Thank you, @jonathon.cuff , for capturing the magic once again through your lens.
Thank you, @maurizioravalico for jumping straight onto the cajón and adding an improvised groove to the mix🔥
Thank you, Anna & Alessandro, for joining the final improvisation✨
Thank you @gigisdressingrm for inspiring styling 👗

And thank you to the beautiful audience for your presence, your voices, your singing, and your openness.

These moments of intimate connection feel rare in our fast, online world - and therefore, they are precious.

Till next time,
with love,
