Yes, a lot of different Nomos have come through the collection and while I’ve generally gone for the more colorful options, when I think about the various LEs I’ve spent time with, these two are at the top and they make a nice pairing to boot! Recently had the chance to pick up the Hodinkee Tangente Sport again and you know what, still a banger!

Nomos brings a fresh ice-blue look to two of its Metro models with the new Metro Date Power Reserve and Metro Neomatik 41 Update. Both feature metallic light-blue dials, delicate colour accents and the collection’s distinctive design by Mark Braun, inspired by urban transit maps.

The Metro Date Power Reserve comes in a 37 mm stainless steel case, just 8 mm thick, with an asymmetric power reserve indicator and a date window at 6 o’clock. More importantly, it introduces the new hand-wound DUW 4701 calibre, featuring a quick-set date and 52-hour power reserve.

The larger Metro Neomatik 41 Update measures 40.5 mm × 9.1 mm and retains its distinctive peripheral date display, with two teal markers framing the current date. Inside is the automatic manufacture DUW 6101, offering a 50-hour power reserve.

Nomos wprowadza świeży, lodowoniebieski kolor do dwóch modeli z kolekcji Metro – nowych Metro Date Power Reserve oraz Metro Neomatik 41 Update. Oba zegarki otrzymały metaliczne, jasnoniebieskie tarcze z subtelnymi kolorowymi akcentami, zachowując charakterystyczną stylistykę kolekcji zaprojektowanej przez Marka Brauna, inspirowaną mapami komunikacji miejskiej.

Metro Date Power Reserve zamknięto w 37-milimetrowej stalowej kopercie o grubości zaledwie 8 mm. Na tarczy znalazły się asymetryczne wskazanie rezerwy chodu oraz datownik na godz. 6. Najważniejszą zmianą jest jednak nowy, ręcznie nakręcany kaliber DUW 4701, wyposażony w funkcję szybkiej korekty daty i zapewniający 52 godziny rezerwy chodu.

Większy Metro Neomatik 41 Update ma wymiary 40,5 mm × 9,1 mm i zachowuje charakterystyczne wskazanie daty na obrzeżu tarczy, w którym aktualny dzień miesiąca wyznaczają dwa turkusowe znaczniki. W środku pracuje automatyczny, manufakturowy kaliber DUW 6101, zapewniający 50 godzin rezerwy chodu. @nomos_glashuette

I genuinely think the NOMOS Zürich Worldtimer is one of the best value world timers in modern watchmaking.

Not because it’s cheap, but because of how much actual watchmaking you’re getting for the money.

NOMOS is a relatively small manufacture producing its own calibres in Glashütte, and even developed the Swing System, its own escapement, giving it a level of independence that plenty of considerably larger manufacturers don’t have.

Then there’s the Zürich itself. The world time mechanism is integrated into the calibre rather than simply adding an off the shelf module, yet the watch remains remarkably slim and typically understated.

That combination is what makes NOMOS so impressive to me. You’re getting genuine manufacture watchmaking, an interesting complication and a huge amount of engineering without the price normally associated with all three.

One of the best value world timers out there? I think it has a very strong case.
