Setiap jarak di Audax JOGJA punya ceritanya sendiri. Mulai dari 100 KM, 200 KM, hingga tantangan panjang 1.200 KM, semuanya bukan hanya tentang seberapa jauh kaki mampu mengayuh, tapi tentang bagaimana kita menghadapi perjalanan.
Kali ini saya mengikuti Audax Jogja 200 KM. Banyak sekali cerita baru, bertemu orang-orang baru, berbagi tawa, semangat, dan pengalaman yang mungkin tidak akan didapat hanya dari sekadar gowes biasa.
Panas dan angin menjadi tantangan yang cukup berat kali ini. Tanjakan menguras tenaga, sementara turunan menuntut konsentrasi lebih. Tapi semuanya menjadi bagian dari cerita perjalanan yang justru membuat pengalaman ini semakin berkesan.
Namun ada satu kabar duka yang membuat perjalanan kali ini terasa berbeda. Seorang peserta mengalami kecelakaan dan tidak sempat menyelesaikan perjalanannya.
Kabar tersebut menjadi pengingat bagi kami semua bahwa sejauh apa pun jarak yang ingin ditempuh, keselamatan tetap yang utama.
Setelah kejadian itu, banyak peserta menjadi lebih berhati-hati. Tidak sedikit yang memilih memperlambat laju, bahkan menuntun sepeda ketika melewati tanjakan atau turunan yang dirasa cukup berisiko.
Dan mungkin di situlah salah satu pelajaran terbesar dari Audax.
100 KM, 200 KM, bahkan 1.200 KM bukan hanya tentang menaklukkan jarak. Bukan tentang siapa yang paling cepat. Bukan pula tentang siapa yang paling kuat.
Tetapi tentang bagaimana kita mampu menjaga diri, saling mengingatkan, saling membantu, dan menikmati setiap kilometer yang dilewati.
Karena pada akhirnya, jarak boleh panjang, target boleh tinggi, tapi tujuan paling penting tetap sama: bisa menyelesaikan perjalanan dan kembali pulang dengan selamat.
200 KM selesai. Banyak cerita yang dibawa pulang. Dan satu pelajaran yang semakin kuat: gowes sejauh apa pun, jangan pernah lupa untuk pulang. 🚴‍♂️🙏

I am a social cyclist. While I can ride solo, I prefer riding with friends. The best moment is riding with my best cycling buddies.

Even though I couldn't complete the ride, that brief moment of cycling with @zalianizam, @nora2180, and @jamesdaud1 reminded me of our few rides in Thailand.

Setengah Rute, namun full di rahsa dan raga. Terlalu banyak kenangan indah, pertemuan dengan warga lokal dengan dialek berbeda.

Otentik, lugu, jujur, baik dan itulah nilai yang kudapat. Love you sodara TIMOR ku.

Inshaallah ijinkan ku kembali menyelesaikan full rutenya😍
Barangku kebanyakan karena setting untuk latian north cape. Namun dari separuh menu ini jadi mendapatkan strategy terbaik buatku tahun depan🫶🏼

@lintangflores was the toughest sports challenge I’ve faced so far. Highest elevation gain three days in a row, heat and humidity, back to back 20+hour days. I had never cycled from midnight to midnight. I had never slept in a warung while people had their food around me. I had never started questioning reality and losing a bit of my sanity while on the bike. Adventure is all about one less “I have never”, and this was such an adventure. I’ll forever remember the kindness of the people of Flores being friendly to the random smelly guy showing up in their town. The people socialising late into the night in small huts all over the villages. The shouts of “hey mister” as I went by. The joy of the children when I got to high five them. Meeting the other competitors out in the field, mostly riding alone but every now and then passing each other. Always knowing no matter how late or remote, someone else is out here just a little ahead or a little behind. I’m so happy to have discovered this world of ultra cycling. To be out there, to see a world and lives so up close as I go on the bike. Now it’s time to retreat back into my also very happy ‘regular life’, until the next adventure calls! Thanks to everyone who supported me with your thoughts, messages, and following my little dot around!

What an amazing night at our Post Raya Tempo Run! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

They arrive one by one.

After days on the road. After 1,500km of heat, rain, gravel, climbs, doubt… and discovery. At the final ascent to Wang Kelian View Point, something special happens. It’s no longer just about the rider chasing the finish line.

From behind, familiar lights appear. Past champions. Fellow riders. Friends who have already conquered the Divide. They roll back down the last climb not to race, but to run alongside. To escort. To honour. To remind every finisher: 'You are not alone. You never were.'

What started as a simple welcome has now become tradition. A final climb shared. A finishing line earned together. A moment where competition fades and community rises.

This is more than a race. This is the Peninsular Divide.

If you’ve ever wondered what waits at the end of 20,000m of climbing, it’s not just a medal... It’s a family.

See you at the summit this coming October 2026.

I DNF my SH1200 😔

Micro-slept on the bike, fell, and bent my pulley — for the second time.
This ride just wasn’t my ride.

Day 1
Hit a gap at a drainage cover, punctured, went down.
Inserted a tube into my tubeless and continued.

Day 2
Micro sleep again. Fell.
Three gears gone.
A big thank you to a foldie rider who stopped and helped me — that kindness mattered more than you know.

Day 4
Last 80km.
Pitch dark. Micro sleep. Fell again.
No help around. I couldn’t continue. I had to abandon the ride.

Picked up by the organiser — and honestly, tip-top hospitality.
Zero complaints, only respect.
He was everywhere, personally making sure things were sorted before he slept, before he stepped away.
Even today, he’s still there until the very last rider rolls off.

Kudos to Mr. Li Yi and his entire crew. Truly a gold-standard organiser.

This ride taught me a lot — about fatigue, judgment, and managing myself better.
A big lesson.

Most of all, it reinforced what matters.
Ride with dignity.
Finish strong — or come back stronger.

Don’t cheat your way to the finish line.
You might fool the world, but you can’t fool yourself.
Truth has a way of surfacing — when all the stories connect, when the puzzle completes itself.
No data needed. No analysis required.

Everyone knows! There’s no need to twist it or make up stories.

December was supposed to be my bikepacking month.
Rapha Festive 500 just happened to fit inside it.

Nothing sacred about Rapha, honestly.
I just enjoy collecting physical patches.
After years of digital trophies,
I finally got one in 2024,
so why not collect another,
even without full bikepacking.

Unplanned, it turned into a mini bikepacking experience.
With people I barely knew.
They say you get to know someone by travelling with them.
500km+ is a very honest introduction.

Different backgrounds, same road.
Some with decades on podiums.
Some who’ve raced ultras as far as Kyrgyzstan.
Some long-time ultra dotwatchers.
And me:
the cyclist with too many IG stories compared to actual cycling mileages.

My heel still hurts.
But once I’m riding, it’s manageable.
Because pedalling doesn’t load the heel the same way.

So I ride within my limits.
No drama. No hero moves.
Just steady miles and good company.

That’s it.
