With over 500 courses, Wisconsin has one of the deepest golf catalogues of anywhere in the country. As a result, tons of incredible golf courses fly under the radar. Here are 5 of my favorites…

Located in gorgeous Door County, Peninsula State Park has one of the best stretches of golf in the state, starting with the 69 yard 8th, which plays off the sheer cliff face of the Niagara Escarpment. Holes 10-12 play back up the massive geologic feature, treating golfers to idyllic views of Green Bay.

Located seemingly on the edge of the world, MIGC is undoubtedly one of the world’s quirkiest routings, with the Robert Trent Jones routing showing just how creative architects can get when given unique challenges, in this case a minuscule site footprint.

A true relic of the “anything goes” era of course design of the early 20th century, TCC blends a supremely quirky centenarian front nine with a back nine designed in part by Steve Stricker, who still plays the course multiple times a year.

Architect Dave Esler said playing Spring Valley is like finding a vintage Porsche locked in a barn. Though it’s grown rough around the edges, the Langford and Moreau bones have remained untouched, giving golden age enthusiasts a phenomenal bang for their buck

Perhaps the paragon of hidden gems. Incredible design, rich history, and premier playing conditions make Eagle Springs a must-play for any golf sicko.
