Breathing is one of the first ways we interact with the world as babies. From that first breath out of the womb, a variety of new exchanges and boundaries will arise that will help us to define and understand our presence on Earth. Later in life, we continue to use breathing not only as a vital function but also as a way to express and connect with our sensations.

Pleasure, tiredness, anxiety, joy, doubt, deep calm- all of them will be processed also through the breath.

In the water, that type of expression emerges very naturally. Using sounds, long breath holds, sight outs, the circulation of air in the body reorganizes to adapt to the aquatic environment; childhood and baby memories, primary information can resurface. Many times, that shows up as deep confidence, as a reminder from our cells that we belong to more than one element.

Dancing in water is for us a way to revisit and rebuild the passage from water to land in our bodies. To retrace our steps and rehearse ways of transitioning smoothly in and out of the aquatic reality to moving with gravity — back and forth.

A way to explore and elaborate, moving on and off from solid to mobile foundations, from weight to buoyancy, from action to listening, from vertical to horizontal, from experiencing aquatic resistance to moving through air.

Join us next Monday morning for this August Full Moon Community Water Dance 🌕

This week! 🤍

Just like musicians get together to have a jam session, where they play songs together, improvise, and simply enjoy being in the company of other musicians, a jam dance session is the same – a container where dancers come together to share, exchange, and enjoy moving on the water in the company of other movers.

Simple
We meet, go in the water, have a great time together, and go home feeling free.

This is a Lab, a space for exploration and movement research.

Come join us!

Good afternoon! 🐚

First of all, welcome and thank you so much for being here!

My name is Alejandra, and I've been organizing these community water dance gatherings for a few months now, every two weeks, during the New Moon and Full Moon 🌑🌗🌕

There are two sessions each time, usually early in the morning to enjoy the calm at that time of the day, at the pools of Guiones Sur or Garza.

TOMORROW, Saturday the 18th, we'll meet at 8:30 am for a session I'm organizing as a collab with Nosara Adventure 🌱

On Monday the 20th, the call is at 9 am, both at the pools of Guiones Sur.

Bring only the essentials for beach time; the less, the better:
🧢 Towel, water bottle, and sun protection (hat, sunscreen, long sleeves).

✨ Please confirm if you're coming on either of these dates, and send me a private message if you have any questions.

Exchange is suggested between $10 and $20 (5,000-10,000) and payment is cash only.

Hope to see you soon in the water 💦

The ocean provides the ideal environment, we only have to release - a bit - the control.
Let's get together, let the water hug us and move us with her mothering power. The rest is pure magic!

These are movement guided experiences, combining improv dance, connection, and embodied movement.

Water dances follow principles of Contact Improvisation practices, promoting respect and compassion.

Full Moon Feb journey:
