The instructors at Mouv shape so much of the experience of this space. We’re recognizing this team and the energy, creativity, and care they bring to each class 🤍

Over the last 2–3 weeks, I’ve seen a huge shift in this space I created and am now fostering with the most incredible team of teachers and facilitators.✨

Yesterday I found myself holding back tears as folks filled the room, connecting with their neighbours, many of them complete strangers just weeks ago. I’ve worked in so many spaces, and creating a culture of connection in the wellness world is hard, especially when you’re committed to building an environment that holds safety, softness, self-reconnection, and genuine care at its core.

Hearing the room so energized, compassionate, and alive felt like a giant “WOW… we actually did it.”
A moment where everything landed, and I could feel the weight of what we’re building together.

It’s been challenging to step out of “I’m facilitating” mode, or step away from the constant grind of running this baby business, to actually pause, breathe, and witness what’s happening here. But yesterday I felt it for the first time.

We’ve gone from slow classes and quiet schedules to most offerings now being waitlisted. And yes, the numbers matter, and yes, seeing a dream come to life is wildly exciting. But what moves me far beyond the numbers is the feeling in the room: people dropping into their bodies, softening into themselves, trusting this experience I once dreamed of.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this dream, walked through these doors, shared their energy, and helped shape this community with so much intention. It truly means everything.

And a big WOW to my incredible best friend and most talented photographer, @kezianphotography , who always captures the heart of what we’re building and turns every moment into magic. ❤️

Do you need creativity? We’ve got it in spades! ♠️ 🎨

One core element present in each of our team members is creativity — and an ability to be strategically creative.

For social impact organizations, creativity can be helpful but it also has to be aligned with your mission and core objectives.

Give us a ring if you have a big creative project to pull off! ☎️ This photo shows a person in a black sweater with a white shirt in front of a colourful wall of posters

Meet our Associate, Nova Marie Kamukuny.

Can we even sum up how much we love working with Marie? (We’ll try!)

With a dual design and digital marketing background, Marie is an asset to the LeBlanc (& co.) Communications team. Marie is a designer, strategist, and digital creator, specializing in digital content. She is experienced in communications for nonprofits, social movements, and purpose-focussed organizations, particularly in queer, feminist, and food justice fields.

Which means she is a perfect fit for LeBlanc (& co.) 💙

Marie is often designing up a storm for us (and sometimes supporting on marketing too).

Let’s give Marie a round of applause in the comments… A person is sitting down smiling against a blue backdrop with a bunch of books

How to maximize your investment in 📸

1. Decide the specific goal or goals of the shoot. You want to be more specific than “just have headshots” and define if the goal is to promote an area of your work.

2. Being able to describe exactly what you’re looking for ‘vibe-wise’ in the photos is important. You should pick someone whose photography style you really admire. You can also create a cohesive mood board to show the photographer, and if you have one, a creative director.

3. When you’re doing a complicated shoot, it’s a relief to have a photographer who knows the physical space / studio well. We’re working with someone who has her own studio. Every inch of the space is meticulously planned, and it helps us make better use of our time together.

4. Think about the end use of the photos. We imagined exactly what we needed for specific comms/marketing products, and we ensured that our shot list meets those needs. For example, we have a vision and specific plan for the new above-the-fold image when you land on our website.

5. Make a VERY detailed shot list. Our photographer helped us move from vague notes like “group shots” to a precise, itemized list of *every shot* that we need. That maximizes the time and resources put into the shoot, while ensuring that nothing has been forgotten.

6. Wardrobe is very important, and we recommend talking to your photographer about what you plan to wear. And don’t forget the other aesthetic details — like hair; makeup if you wear it; and not having chipped nail polish.

7. If you’re using props, then you should assemble them and test them in advance. Don’t leave it to the last minute…

8. Don’t forget detail shots, like a flat lay of your business cards or another significant item on a styled table. We brought books related to our work and they looked 🔥
