There was a time I couldn’t imagine getting sober. Today, I get to celebrate one year of Redemption in New Jersey, surrounded by people who believe recovery is possible.

If you don’t believe in yourself yet, let us believe in you until you do. Someone did that for me.

The destruction may get your attention, but the recovery is why I tell my story.

For 15 years, heroin took me to places I never imagined I’d go. And while the chaos, consequences, and devastation might be what makes someone stop and listen, that’s not the message I want them to leave with.

I share where I’ve been so someone who’s still in that darkness can see what’s possible on the other side.

Because if I can find a way out, so can you.

For years, I convinced myself I wasn’t the problem. I was just having a bad day, a bad week, a bad run. Tomorrow would be different.

But tomorrow kept looking exactly like yesterday.

On May 25th, 2015, I walked into my 13th inpatient treatment center, having lost just about everything.

What changed wasn’t my circumstances. It was my willingness to finally approach life with an open mind and an open heart.

And that willingness saved my life.

Broken ribs and a minor concussion … somehow that STILL wasn’t the worst part 😂

Got to the hospital and immediately caught up with a felony charge. Just when I thought the stunt was over, apparently there was a bonus round.
