How do you keep a craft going for five or six hundred years?

For Ramchandra Singh, the answer begins at home. His father, a State Award-winning artisan, was part of a generation that devoted a lifetime to preserving the craft of wooden toy making through practice, patience and precision.

Today, as a State Award-winning artisan himself, he carries that inheritance forward, and his hands are where memory becomes making.
