It’s official: My first book, Empathy at Work, is out now from @Forbes Books.

For most of my career, I’ve been fascinated by what makes some teams thrive while others quietly fall apart.

I’ve seen brilliant people shut down in environments that prized performance over people. I’ve also seen ordinary teams do extraordinary things when they felt safe, trusted, and connected.

After years of building creative teams, scaling a company from an idea to a multi-billion-dollar global brand, and studying organizational change at @northwesternu, I kept returning to one question:

What does it really mean to lead with empathy — and does it actually drive results?

The answer, I’ve found, is yes. But not in the soft, vague way empathy is often discussed.

Empathy fuels trust.
Trust fuels creativity.
Creativity fuels innovation and growth.

In Empathy at Work, I share a research-backed framework for building people-first organizations that:

• Create psychological safety so teams can take creative risks
• Lead with integrity and shared purpose
• Build resilience through change without losing their humanity

I wrote this book because I believe the future of leadership isn’t about control. It’s about connection. When leaders understand that, everything changes.

If you’re ready to move beyond command-and-control models and build a culture where people truly thrive, I hope this book gives you the tools and courage to do it.
