Dragon Ball Script episode 229

Graded a CGC 9.4

But more importantly it is signed by Ryo Horikawa, none other than the Japanese voice actor of Vegeta. He has been voicing Vegeta for 37 years and is viewed as a legend in the anime community by his peers.

Voicing as the Prince of all Saiyans with the high confidence, to cocky at times with the aristocrat attitude. Matching his pride, elegance and brute style. Over the years we’ve seen Vegeta’s character evolved from the selfish character to a more family and father oriented but never once compromising on his training to be the strongest.

And this is what we see in this episode when he allows the evil to overtake him to become
Majin Vegeta where he takes on Goku is one of the most epic battles in Dragon Ball history.

The last real battle was way back at the beginning of Dragon Ball Z episode 30 where Vegeta won. And it was no different in this episode. A corner stone in top historical anime fight scenes to the anime that pathed the way for the anime culture that it is today. I can’t wait for Super to resume and see Vegeta in his new form.

Dragon Ball Mystical Adventure PRELIMINARY SCRIPT

The only known copy graded or raw to have surfaced. Graded a CGC 9.0.

Released in Japan, July 9 1988.

The rarity of this piece is not only that’s it’s a script but it’s a preliminary script (hakogaki). This is when the directors and writers plot and map out the movie. Figuring out dialog, events actions, characters, flow of the movie, etc. You could say this would be a “Test” script in layman’s term.

This movie took part after Goku and Krillin finished training with Master Roshi. Just before the Martial Arts Tournament saga.

Toriyama fans like myself appreciate how he incorporates Arale into the Dragon Ball franchise and we see her pop up once in a blue moon even in Dragon Ball Super. It makes you think given how powerful Arale is, did Dr Slump know Dr Gero. This could make a very interesting arc

Massive grail dump. After the fire, I got back to the right mindset. Legacy can’t be stopped by government negligence.
1) Don’t let the world stop you. Ever.
2) Don’t leave valuable collectibles in your home.
3) Safes are nothing more than ovens. Don’t forget that.
4) Insure your valuables.
5) No more than 10% of net worth in collectibles.

Pocket Monster anime script Episode 29

Graded a monster CGC 9.6. Only known raw or graded copy to publically surface.

Scripts are ultra rare 100s - 1,000s of times rarer than any manga released. Particularly early Pokemon episodes scripts were really hard to find in the wild. Let alone one so early and significant.

In later Pokemon series, to minimise scripts from being leaked publicly, publishing/broadcasting company OLM, Inc started to print numbers on the scripts and monitoring which numbered script were given to which VA or department. This way if one made it out publicly, OLM could trace back to who leaked which copy of which episode and take action accordingly.

For this episode. Apart from its high rarity, it was also where Ash won his VERY FIRST non gym related tournament with Primeape against a Hitmonlee in the last round with a Seismic Toss. Ash as won hundreds of battles over the many years of the pokemon anime series, but this marking his first tournament win makes it all that more special to have in the collection!

Dragon Ball Z, anime Voice Actor Script, Episode 147

Graded a CGC 6.5

This is the ONLY graded copy. BUT more importantly, unlike the other colored Dragon Ball Scripts. This is an AR (After Recording) script. A script that was actually used by the Voice Actors during the filming of this episode.

With Cell creating a deadline for the Cell Games. Goku and the others take turns on use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. It was the only option they had to squeeze in a full year of training in 1 day. It was the only way they could try and gain extra power in hope to defeat Cell.

Vegeta and Future Trunks used it first. It was very iconic for Vegeta. The time spent in the chamber with his son, it was showed in later episodes the amount of love and pride he has for not only his son to wife and daughter (Bulma and Bulla). Which was not as evident as before this episode.

During their time in the Chamber, this was also where Trunks and Vegeta learnt Super Saiyan Grade 3 (Ultra Super Saiyan). What we know as the bulky SS. Though immense increase in power lacked greatly in speed and agility

CGC was inundated with script submissions. Sometimes in business you have to make decisions, and when the cost of authenticating outweighs the benefit of the business itself… you have to walk.

The GOOD NEWS is that all scripts previously authenticated are guaranteed. The scripts I purchased had incredible provenance by a seller who spent 10 years very methodically purchasing, establishing line of ownership and achieved authentication as a result. Once that became more mainstream, and top level scripts have 6 and potentially 7 figure value, authentication without supporting documentation became an expensive task.

I have some ungraded scripts as well. I’ll wait to see if there’s another grader who picks this up.

Good news. Bad news.

Good news for those who already own graded scripts is that guaranteed authentic pop reports remain very slim.

Bad news is that this was really a fun pursuit. Authentication is not easy, but it really helped with street credibility. Sometimes things can be too rare.

My DB script 1 (1986) and Pokémon script 2-13 (1997) will remain without a peer group. I was hoping for more copies to grade.

This might be the greatest anime script ever found. Dragon Ball episode 1 from Toei air date 2/26/1986. Redlines, pencil, producers notes and other indentifying marks along with great provenance allowed CGC to grade it. This might be the only one ever to be found in the great rabbit hole. 🐰🕳️
