Last month we had a, you guessed it, NICE time hanging out in the @rockwellthtr for 36 non-contiguous hours of NICETIES at @niceafest! We DA'd sets for over 30 incredible acts - these are only some of our favorite clips, of friends new and old alike. A huge thanks to @someburgers and the whole NICE team for bringing us back for our second & NICEST year yet. Thanks for coming out and saying hi, and we'll see you at the next one!

NICE ARTIST HIGHLIGHT: 🙂 @numberonebabeband 🙂

A recommendation from our pals at @allstonpudding turned into a must book act for us. We are so thrilled, please welcome Rhode Island’s Number One Babe to the NICE, a fest 2026 lineup!

A singer and songwriter from Westerly, Rhode Island, Zachary Alexander Cholewa started Number One Babe in 2020 as a vehicle for their indie folk & Americana twang after spending formative years writing and performing with garage rock band Sydney’s Armour. Their debut album, 2022’s Ecstatic Function brought many jangly, raucous shows to the greater northeast, culminating in an electrifying set at Newport Folk Festival in 2024. Cholewa’s new LP titled Red Clover released in November 2025 via Funnybone Records, proving to be the songwriter’s most defining body of work to date.

NICE Q&A with Number One Babe:

⁉️What makes Number One Babe NICE?

🅰️ I think that all of the people who have made up Number One Babe at one time or another are a huge part of what makes our band super NICE! It wouldn’t be the same without my friends making their special mark on these tunes of mine.

⁉️What do you love about the New England music scene?

🅰️As a young musician coming into Providence, I instantly felt held by my peers and role models within the scene. I still do. There was and remains no better place to be an artist than beloved Providence, RI and the greater New England music scene.

Discover artists from all over New England and catch Number One Babe at @niceafest at the end of the month!

Maybe you missed & @chicostatesmusic & myself at the @theapohadion theatre recently. Great news is, you’ll have another chance to catch that exact show but with @lefty.parker & @numberonebabeband this time. #Truly some beautiful alt-country shoegaze vibes are in store.

I met Lefty at @table_bar a few years ago and their music met my heart right away. I played their homemade CD to learn to drive and I’m stoked to hear these inspiring songs again.

There will be another very unique opportunity to see Lefty and Chico States play in Central Maine the day after, thanks to @jhnhrlw ✌️✌️💙. I’ll make a separate post for it. 💖 It will be Summer.

OMG this paragraph is long. I am also legally obligated to inform you as a Leo it will be my birthday week ;). Is this an indulgent birthday present to myself?
mos def. :))
Music is the gift of the universe. ✌️🌠
