Thank you for making the School Supply Drive and Free Market such a success.

Iโ€™m incredibly humbled by the response that we received in our school supply drive for families of Delaney Hall detainees. The outpouring of support lead to enough backpacks to also go out to other parts of the community that could use that assistance. Community is everything. No matter how dark it gets, as long as we lean into each other, I know that we will be fine. When itโ€™s hard to find hope, remember what weโ€™re capable of when we simply care for each other and make the choice to show up. Thank you so much to everyone who donated, who used their space as collection sites, who helped amplify the message, and who put their time, sweat, heart, and soul into making this a success beyond anything we could have imagined. We protect us. Love yโ€™all.

Want to make cool art in a cozy and inclusive atmosphere? Join us upstairs at @tierneystavern on Sunday, August 23 from 4-8 for a no-rules, laidback junk journaling hang.

Hosted by Eighty-Sixโ€™d and @electra.complex , the event is $25 per person, and each participant will be provided with a blank journal, glue, and loads of junk journaling materials. While not required, youโ€™re also free to bring your own materials, such as photos, stickers, magazine cutouts, paint, etc.

The best part: No experience or art skills are required. Weโ€™ll be there to walk you through the basics and provide some inspo.

$20 of each ticket sale will directly go to @nutleypride initiative to support families of ICE detainees at Delaney Hall in Newark.
