Friends! Neighbors! Tie-dye lovers of the larger Brooklyn metropolitan area!

Do you like community? Do you like clean streets? Do you like showing up and doing a little simple, good thing that reminds you that you can show up and do a good and simple thing?

Then come to Flatbush’s First Annual CLEAN FOR HALLOWEEN on Saturday, October 24, 1-4pm, and help clean 60 blocks of central Flatbush in one afternoon. Snacks & supplies provided. Good vibes guaranteed.

Sign up and choose your clean zone 🔗 tinyurl.com/helphallowclean

We’re dividing the territory into 15 small zones, so you can choose the area you want to clean. Maybe it’s where you live, work, or where your kid goes to school. Maybe it’s just an area you always see looking trashy. Come on 10/24 and help clean it!

The cleaning zone with the highest turnout will get a little treat in the form of a FREE TIE-DYE POP-UP courtesy of yours truly. Fun for the whole family. Plus we’ve got a running list of local coffee shops offering free drink cards to folks who help for at least an hour. Clean a block, get a latte.

This event is extra close to my heart because I’ve helped organize it. My friend Rose and I had the idea a few weeks ago and got to work with local leaders like Rita Joseph and Brian Cunningham; Community Boards 9 and 17; NYC’s Sanitation Department; local businesses like Hamlet, Antilles, Pacha, and Classic Cups; and neighborhood groups like Maple Street Garden, CleanupPLG, and *77.

We’ve got 70+ volunteers signed up. Can you help us get to 150?

Sign up before you forget! Share with friends! 🔗 tinyurl.com/helphallowclean

Our 2026 Young at Heart Gala was an evening of celebration and connection as we raised funds to support our youth sports, enrichment, afterschool and summer programs. Thank you to our incredible staff and our Flatbush Senior Community Members Yvonne, Mervyn, Emmaline and Marie for making this an unforgettable night. Extra big congratulations to our honorees: Assembly Member @nyamcunningham and Shawn Campbell Community Board 14 District Manager. Your continued support of the Flatbush YMCA allows us serve our community everyday. 💜

Breaking News!
It’s bittersweet for me to announce that Friday was my final day as Deputy Chief of Staff to Assemblymember Brian Cunningham. I am incredibly grateful for the past 2 years and for the opportunity to help represent the residents of 43rd Assembly district. Thank you to @nyamcunningham for the opportunity and thank you to entire team for their incredible work. During my time with the Assemblymember we secured millions of dollars for organizations in Central Brooklyn, 1 Billion dollars for SUNY Downstate, and passed 10 pieces of legislation through the Assembly. The friendships, lessons, and memories I made will last a life time.

I’m incredibly excited for what comes next and look forward to sharing with all of you soon.

Assembly District 58 Daniel's Day Back to School Mental Health Wellness Block Party!!!!

Shout out to all of our partners, sponsors and community based organizations.

Shinda Mgmt, JST Mgmt, CB Emanuel, Monadnock Development, @1199seiu @icl.inc @northnodetherapy
@efvillage @theparentexperience @_bkhalalgrill @projectechony @brownsvillethinktank @fancyladyforeverrose @etanu22 Finish Touch

We appreciate the families of Saheed Vassell, Eudes Pierre, Dwayne Jeune, Daniel Prude sharing their stories with us. We pay tribute to Tanya Odums for her contributions to mental health support. We continue to support Dorothy Clarke's family as they remind us of why we need so much support for our community.

We will do all we can to advocate for the passage of Daniel's Law so mental health professionals along with Peers....individuals with lived experience are making the decisions and responding to the needs of a person experiencing a mental health crisis. Law enforcement should not be the ones responding to those dealing with a mental health crisis.

We are grateful to the Montgomery Street and Crown Street Blocks along with BKHALALGRILL f@_bkhalalgrill G2G Foundation or their on going support.
