The Florists’ Table @jamjar_flowers & @nymphaea.flora Flowers have always played a role in bringing people together, but the best tablescapes for events don’t compete with the conversation, they spark it. Intentional design is often found in thoughtful restraint. Limiting a palette to just a few carefully chosen ingredients allows each flower to express its own character, while encouraging us to look more closely at familiar varieties. Increasingly, pansies have emerged as a contemporary floral ingredient, valued for their delicate structure, vibrant colour and unexpected presence within modern floral design. For The Florists’ Table, Talena and Ebony centred their design around just two seasonal flowers, sweet peas and pansies. Using just these two ingredients, the design celebrated the movement, colour and individuality of each stem. Sweet peas tumbled the length of the table, their tendrils looping and intertwining in what the designers described as a conversation between the flowers. Long-stemmed pansies punctuated the arrangement with quiet moments of colour and personality. Kept intentionally open, the installation allowed guests to look through the flowers rather than around them, ensuring that as the flowers appeared to converse across the table, so too could the people gathered around it. Pay attention to the flowers. To the flowers growing around you. To the flowers you choose to buy. To how they’re grown. To how they’re arranged. And to the season-led florists shaping the future of floristry. 30 designers created 15 floral compositions celebrating seasonal British flowers and sustainable floristry mechanics at @flowersontheedge The Florists’ Table. More than an exhibition, the florist-led initiative invited collaboration, connections, education and inspiration galore. Notes from the panel talk Advice to floral designers: -We are all different and we absolutely can all stand out. Nobody will see things the way you do. Do what you are drawn to. -Only share the work you do that aligns with your aesthetic and values, to attract more designs in that scope and feeling. -How to educate your clients: When working on events you can ask what guests are eating. If the client is interested in local produce then you should definately educate them on the beauty and sustainability of locally grown flowers and foliage. Advice to growers: -Grow what you love! Florists will love the ones that you are excited about. -Stay curious. Florists love unusual varieties and forms. -Insure quality Congratulations Liv @_wetherly and Cissy @_wildstems_ Congratulations to the designers: @botanical_tales & @flowers_by_cosmos @briastudio & _flowerandland @daisyzoom & @rosa.wild.floraldesign @fionapicklesartist & @ochrebotanicalstudios @flowerandpress & @oliviamichaelaflowers @flowersociety & @cloverandtide @jamjar_flowers & @nymphaea.flora @joannagame_flowers & @heathland_flowers @kidgeflowers & @blowth_ @laylarobinsondesign & @moomi_botanicals @leigh.chappell.flowers & @caitlunn @libertylaneflowers & @flowers.in.french @pyrusbotanicals & melisa.zulu @millefleurpearl & @studio_islen @thistlebynature & @flower.s___•_ Illustration, photos, video and notes: Emma grower @licencetobloom Artist & Fashion Designer @madiandpip

A few years ago I asked Kate, a local, independent florist @bracken_and_bloom to create a flower arrangement for one of my photoshoots. She politely said no. At the time, I couldn’t understand why. It was February… but still, why couldn’t she just source the flowers I wanted? She explained to me that she only works with British seasonally grown flowers and that in February, roses just weren’t available. That conversation completely changed how I think about flowers. Last week, I was lucky enough to attend The Florist’s Table hosted by Flowers On The Edge @flowersonthe.edge for British Flowers Week, in Hackney. It gathered the crème de la crème of industry greats together, established and emerging, to design floral tablescapes with no rules or boundaries. The explosion of colour, feeling and imagination was immense! Such talent. I left thinking not just about the sheer beauty of flowers, but about our relationship with nature, the seasons, consumerism and why learning to work with what’s available can actually lead to far more creativity. I was so inspired by the event, I’ve written a blog on my website about the conversations that challenged me, the people who inspired me, and why this will shape my future photography projects involving flowers. I’d love you to have a read. I’ve also listed all the floral designers who took part in this event in the comments (I ran out of allowed tags sadly) so that you can look them up and potentially use them if you wanted to exercise consumer control and choice over British grown flowers. You see, I’m not a florist or a floral designer. I don’t grow flowers on a farm. And yet I feel a real calling to work more closely with florals in my photography. And if I can champion the British flower industry at the same time this will become part of my mission too. The full blog is now live on my website (louisapeacock.com / link in bio). I’d genuinely love to know if it changes how you think about flowers too. 🌿

Wow. British Flowers Week 2026 was something special. Wednesday morning- bright and early- I visited Flowervision London (@flowervisionlondon) to help them launch their newest offering. Flowervision London are now offering seasonal British blooms to their customers… …and I’m delighted to be one of their inaugural growers! As soon as our dahlias start blooming, they’ll be making their way to the Heathrow warehouse, ready for florists across London (and further afield) to discover and enjoy. Lucy (@foxlightflowerfarm), Ian (@water.lane) and I spent a lovely morning meeting and chatting with the Flowervision London team and many of their customers, who were all excited and eager to be able to easily access locally grown produce. It was quite a thrill to see armloads of British blooms walking out the door! And then there was Thursday. I had the good fortune to attend the @flowersonthe.edge Florists Table event, the brilliant brainchild of Liv (@_wetherly_ ) and Cissy (@_wildstems_ ). What a pleasure. I was able to experience 15 completely varied tablescapes, all designed by British designers, using exclusively British blooms. It was breathtaking and my photos really don’t do it justice (must work on that. Also, will show that frothy gorgeousness to any person who tells me they don’t like yellow flowers…!). And then I spent the evening at one of the tables framed by the charmingly whimsical creation of @joannagame_flowers and @heathland_flowers, and shared a delicious meal with other florists and artists, as we talked about the future of our industry. Connections- discussions- ideas all flowed as we bonded through the foliage. What a way to spend a few hours. And it provided just the motivation required to get planting those numerous dahlia plants in their newly prepared beds! But more on that soon… British Flowers week 2026. I’ll remember this one. #britishflowersweek #fftf #flowerfarmer

Introducing our next designer @nymphaea.flora ‘Nymphaea started as a passion project in the suburbs of Brisbane that quickly turned into wanting to know all the nooks and crannies of the floral industry. From working in my own home studio to freelancing and wholesale to retail spaces I eventually found myself learning to grow flowers in Scotland. My style is ever evolving and changing. These days my work is more of a floral diary and is less about creating for people. i enjoy following the curiosities of what’s in season in my little area of Edinburgh.’ The Florists’ Table 18 June | 3-5.30pm & 6.30-10pm, 71-75 Powerscroft Road, E5 0PT Strawberry Hill House Flower Festival 10-13 September, Twickenham, TW1 4ST Featuring: @botanical_tales & @flowers_by_cosmos @briastudio & @_flowerandland @daisyzoom & @rosa.wild.floraldesign @fionapicklesartist & @ochrebotanicalstudios @flowerandpress & @oliviamichaelaflowers @flowersociety & @cloverandtide @jamjar_flowers & @nymphaea.flora @joannagame_flowers & @heathland_flowers @kidgeflowers & @blowth__ @laylarobinsondesign & @moomi_botanicals @leigh.chappell.flowers & @caitlunn @libertylaneflowers & @flowers.in.french @pyrusbotanicals & @melisa.zulu @millefleurpearl & @studio_islen @thistlebynature & The Open Seat Flowers on the Edge, a curatorial and campaigning project by @_wetherly_ and @_wildstems_ Co-curated with @flowers.at.the.house Part of #britishflowersweek Part of the Flower Festival at @strawbhillhouse Graphic design: @morafloral.studio

The genius work of @whatsusanseesphotography and the week she came to photograph behind the scenes at Tupelo Tree // might have lost my mind when she sent me these previews today!! Iv been wanting to document our process and behind the scenes for a while now, I found Susan’s work a few years back and when she moved over here recently I was hoping we’d work together - then I had the genius idea to ask her to tag along with us and capture the true essence of what we do. Iv always had a deep passion for my work but never feel I’m able to really show it the way I see it… ✨ until now ✨ // Honestly Susan… I am lost for words
