Sir Velo II aka The Hot Rod aka The Lambo bike. Bit of a journey to get back on an S5 after Julian ruined my day, but alas, WE’RE BACK.

Huge thanks to @cervelo for their generosity, @fortstreetcycle for doing the tear down, build back up, and just generally being a place that feels like home, more than a shop. Special mention to Jordan at Fort Street for actually doing the work and being so tedious about it (I’d know, I hovered over him 👀), @m.b.bikes for helping me take my vision for the fork from an idea to reality. Incredible work!! @oakbaybikes for facilitating the warranty claim and being so friendly and helpful, and of course all my cycling friends for the support and encouragement through the whole process.

I’m such a lucky guy. I love this community. Can’t wait to put many, many kms on this bike!

If you didn’t know (because I didn’t) bicycle insurance exists. DM me if you want more details but both my bikes are now fully insured and it’s quite reasonably priced 🫡

Cheers!!

DENIM-DURO RECAP🏁

Jorts? Homemade. Canadian tuxedos? Represented. Chafing? You tell us?

We don’t think we’ve seen this much denim in Hartland since ‘02. Thank you everyone who came out for this one!! Massive s/o to @oakbaybikes for sponsoring the wicked prizes, bbq, and helping out with logistics and @uvic.mtb.club for partnering with us! Thank you thank you thank you to all of our volunteers: Kyler, Ian, Char, Rick, Mike, and Kara for timing; Jo and Char for checking everyone in; Audrey for slinging dogs for everyone; and once again char for snagging these awesome photos to share with our community 🫶

If you’ve been on the fence to try a tenner, we hope this gives you a vibe of what it’s all about: getting together to ride bikes.

Next tenner is October 24th. See you there 👻

Enduro Nationals done. Bit of a rough race weekend, had a couple crashes in practice, leaving me pretty sore on race day. And then a flat at the top of the pro stage left me a minute back heading into Sunday.
No point getting too upset over something I couldn’t control, and I’m grateful I’ve been pretty lucky with avoiding race-day mechanicals as often as I have. Managed to make some time back and finish with a P2, but was missing some pace on race day.
Awesome to see the West Coast crew representing this weekend. Congrats everyone!!
Thanks @oakbaybikes for the support and getting the bike dialled for these back to back races!

congrats to @keely.bathurst a second place 🥈 finish at the @canadianenduromtbchampionships this past weekend. proud of how she stuck with it thru a tough practice day including a couple of crashes and then a flat on the first stage to put in a great effort thru 6 tough stages on sunday. congratulations to all the racers on a great day and to all the 2026 national champs. thanks to @oakbaybikes for continuing to support keely including @scotteefreshmartin , @curty.bee and @officerfrankdrebin for making sure her bike and equipment are dialed for big racing weekends like this. also to @coachadamwalker for his approach in supporting her thru this journey.
