What a way to kick off 2026🤸‍♀️ So grateful for this wonderful community of students and mostly @anniecarpentersmartflow 💖🕊️ Teachers help keep us on the path, the good ones wake us up, and the great ones help us catch glimpses of what we never thought was possible. ✨💛

Excited to share an insightful blog post by one of our yogis, Brooke Oberg! 🧘‍♀️✨ Brooke dives deep into the 7 functional movement patterns we explored in our recent ‘FUNctional Movement and SmartFLOW Yoga’ workshop. She brilliantly connects these patterns to everyday activities and highlights how SmartFLOW yoga and her beloved Pilates practice support healthy aging and overall wellbeing. From squats to twists, learn how these movements are crucial for daily life and how mindful practice can enhance your functional fitness. Brook’s unique perspective as a dedicated Pilates instructor adds a fantastic layer to the discussion! Head to the link in our bio to read Brooke’s full article. It’s a must-read for anyone interested in the science behind movement and the beautiful synergy between Yoga and Pilates. Thank you, @oberg.brooke, for sharing your wisdom and enthusiasm! 💪🙏

What does Pilates & Slurpees have in common? . . . In my latest newsletter (subscribe in bio) I chat about what it means to feel connected to a group of people. The Slurpee photo reminds me of good times hanging with my besties in summer riding bikes, going for Slurpees and having late-night sleepovers (I was 13 😂). I felt like I belonged to something special! Fast-forward nearly 40 years and I have similar memories within my Pilates community. Pilates gives us so much more than a workout and I share three ways how training in a room among like-minded people teaches us how to connect and get along with others. Aligned Pilates is a space that brings people together, sharing, observing, encouraging, and problem-solving in a caring community. You don’t have to be alone. Let’s move together! PS. The first photo is from my year spent with amazing people at @vintagepilates. Epic times!! #pilates#community#neveralone#connection#josephpilates#slurpees
