"Inspiration" is a word that gets thrown around a lot. For me, it isn't really about being inspired. It's about being brave enough to take a risk.

I find a lot of comfort in my stripy tableware. It's familiar, and it's very easy to stay in the lane where I feel comfortable.

RE:TALE, my exhibition with the Object Makers at The Arts House Trust, on until the 2nd of August, was the first time in a long time that I was brave enough to make something different. (dont worry I'll never ditch my technique though)

It reminded me how much I enjoy making new pieces, testing new colours, and discovering things I'd forgotten about my own practice.

I love putting ceramics on the wall.

I love manipulating colour and pattern across a series of works.

I approach my practice like a science experiment, changing one variable at a time.

I hate the word "play". It feels too open ended and, if I'm honest, it scares me. So instead, I call them tests.

This body of work has opened up a new avenue to explore.

I wonder where this exploration might lead.
