The World Premiere of ZJILI at TIFF was everything we hoped it’d be and more. It was truly amazing watching the audience experience Zjili for the first time. To sit in a packed cinema hall with people eager and willing to embrace the rollercoaster of emotions throughout the film made it all worth it.

What was even more beautiful was experiencing all this with some of the cast and crew, whilst representing a village of creatives who poured their hearts into the making of this very beautiful, urgent and important film.

TIFF, you will always have my heart.

If you are in Toronto, our final screening happens today at the Scotiabank Cinema. Come through!

A pleasure to spend the morning with a group of Catholics Priests from TICCS Tamale from around the continent. @redclay_studio is open to all and most importantly private tours and lectures. The artists studio is also a classroom which can be used as a site of reflection and redistribution of collective memories. Photo by @officially_sackitey

SCCA Tamale is pleased to present The Writing’s on the Wall (TWTW), opening 13th September 2025. Featuring art by a mix of millennials, Gen Zers and Gen Xers, baby boomers and progenitors, this powerful, vulnerable, and seductive show shares intimate and rarely seen sides of a spectrum of women artists who are testing the bounds of their fields, cultures, and realities. All of these artists are knowledge-keepers, hackers, healers, and conceivers in various ways, and the shape of the exhibition reflects and opens space for their creative regeneration.

SCCA Tamale presents One man does not rule a nation curated by Janek Simon (@jansizero) and Max Cegielski (@maxcegielski).

The exhibition explores the dynamics of collaboration between Ghana and Poland through a 3D printed version of the 1965 Sword Monument work by the Polish artist Alina Ślesińska, archive materials and new recordings by the curators. It mines history and ties the process of decoloniality with geopolitics and economy in the post-independence period.

FRI, 12. 09. 2025, 5:00pm
Venue: Red Clay, Janna Kpeŋŋ

One Man Does Not Rule a Nation’ is organised in partnership with TRAFO Centre for Contemporary Art in Szczecin (@trafo_szczecin), the Adam Mickiewicz Institute (@mickiewicz_institute), Red Clay (@redclay_studio) and FCA-Ghana (@fca_ghana).

Happy new month. @redclay_studio @sccatamale is open on all days and admission free. We also organize transportation for schools and communities from distant areas to experience our programs and further towards redistribution these cultural sensitivities. If you know of a community in the region or teachers will like to bring their pupils, please let us know. Art is about engaging our ideals of what freedom and justice is, our institutions are only committed to that. Still on James Barnor on the Road till this Sunday after 13 months in view.
