Sound is truly the unsung (pun intended) hero of film and we’re so grateful to the team who helped our film sound fab ✨ Wāhine Waveriders soundtrack is a combination of original composition by @devczuk and music provided by some amazing artists; 1. Hello Big Yellow - @oceanspace__ (Gisborne, NZ) 2. Men - Deryk @shutupmads (Auckland, NZ) 3. Percolator Instigator - @cult_blonde (Gisborne, NZ) as well as the waiata ‘Hine Moana’ performed live by the Aparima College Kapa Haka group led by @irirangiluke 💙 We were lucky enough to have the sound design and mix also completed by Dev at @_lightyearstudios in London ☕️ An honorable mention has to be made to @danny_del_amor for his amazing tips and mentorship with recording location audio to our production team and @jase.hancox & @barikarising who shared their gear 😍

TRAILER DROP 🥳 Wāhine Waveriders tells the story of three generations of female surfers reshaping the surf culture at the bottom of Aotearoa’s South Island 🌊 The film explores their personal connection to the ocean and celebrates its profound impact on physical and emotional recovery. Through the lens of womanhood across three generations, the film highlights the evolving attitudes toward women in surfing. Happy release day to 2 artists I’ve loved working with! First up is the new single from the incredible @shivers_nz who have just released their first song in Te Reo. Was such a priveldge to work with my brothers in arms on this track and one that means a lot to all of us involved! As usual @timmy_porter and @adrian_win_shivers crushed it as well as @rickistah on the drums! 2nd up is the dope AF debut EP from the super rad @oceanspace__ I had such much fun Producing these incredible tunes from these incredible humans and it was such a pleasure to be in the studio working away on these brilliant songs.
