Every year during Manufacturing Week, Komo Machine and Polyurethane Machinery Corporation is pleased to host seniors from Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS). We never tire of seeing such enthusiasm for skilled trades and sharing a bit of knowledge about our machinery and the manufacturing work environment.

This year, the group toured both facilities, including the manufacturing floors, welding, shipping, and quality assurance.

We wish them the very best in their future endeavors. Who knows? Perhaps they'll work with us one day.

OCVTS is celebrating Manufacturing Week!

Students in the OCVTS Jackson Center Engineering Technology Program took a tour of Independence Cryogenic Engineering (ICE)/626 in Little Egg Harbor today. The company designs, builds, tests, and ships MRI and Xray machines. It was incredible! It was their first time hosting a tour! The CEO made a special welcoming video for our students because they need younger, skilled workers.

Kirk Stevenson, General Manager, led the tour and had the workers explain their backgrounds and how their diverse skill sets landed them there. Most of the employees were not college-educated, including an Engineer/Scientist, and a worker who did the gaming electronics for Dave & Buster’s.

The company competes with NASA and does business with companies such as Merck and Pfizer.

The students had such an amazing experience and learned so much about the work that goes into making these life-saving machines.

Celebrating the next generation of sound.⁣
⁣
We recently hosted a student scholarship awards ceremony at the KEF Music Lounge in partnership with Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS), supporting future audio engineers at the Grunin Performing Arts Academy.⁣
⁣
Beyond providing financial support and LSX IIs to jumpstart their careers, our partnership includes hands-on immersive audio workshops and professional monitoring upgrades to introduce students to spatial audio and Dolby Atmos production. All mixed on KEF.⁣
⁣
Proud to support these talented creators, and more to come, as they master the art of recording, mixing, and sound design. 🔊

Students in the OCVTS Jackson Center Woodworking Program got to see first-hand how tables and benches for Playa Bowls are made during a visit today to Rella Woodworks in Brick. Owner Doug Rella explained and demonstrated the process, and let students work the sawmill! Mr. Rella discussed how to mark wood for cuts, the different species of wood, and gave the students slabs of wood for future projects!

Another epic sea bass trip aboard the Mary M out of Barnegat Light! Captain Sam put us on the fish again. Lots of quality sea bass and scup, along with a massive trigger fish! Everyone took fish home for dinner!
