Minty fresh @kentwood_city_fc kits designed by @_edgarh_ / @the.oddest

The Kentwood City squad is full of classy players. Once you meet them, you can tell that soccer is not just a game, but an art and philosophy. At its pinnacle, it reaches for an aesthetic dimension, utilizing dance and movement of the body through space. What a joy! Their team will be revamped this year with more chemistry under their belts.

@_edgarh_ is a creative director and owner of the @the.oddest. He’s always had his hands in a dope project and is a master creator. Check out his Heartside Park basketball court restoration / installation project for @artprize 2021. It’s stunning!

Their sponsor, @therefinery.mi / @therefinerymi has been in the cannabis game for over a decade showing people what passion can do for your cultivation and flowers.

A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to do 2 installations for Re(Turn) To The River Fest. I made two dozen concrete stones and with a small team we also wrapped 130 trees with fabric! Special thanks to @powermanatee , @megancatcho & @downtowngrinc for entrusting me with the fabrication and installation of these two crazy projects. The install team for knocking out the tree wrap installation out of the park, and the homie @jose_jstowing for transporting approx. 6000 lbs of concrete balls to and from, safely! PS, stop by the @vanandelarenagr this Thursday afternoon to see these in person! About a dozen will be on display for just 1 day!

@_edgarh_ right as he was beginning a massive project to paint a mural on this court for @odd_studios. This dude worked his ass off and literally restored this court completely and even installed custom backboards 🤯

The basketball court on the south end of Heartside Park (301 Ionia Ave SW) got a major transformation thanks to @odd_studios and Artist Edgar Hernandez (@_edgarh_) who took on the project for ArtPrize @artprize 2021. The Heartside Park basketball court project is Hernandez’s first ArtPrize entry. He says his work was influenced by a piece of clothing from his Mexican culture called a serape.

“They’re basically like woven blankets or blanket like garments that you can wear,” said Hernandez. “Those are usually bold colors, vibrant colors, straight lines.” The new court was made complete with custom translucent yellow acrylic backboards, new rims, and brass chain nets.

#Repost @grparksandrec: "The basketball court on the south end of Heartside Park (301 Ionia Ave SW) got a major transformation thanks to @odd_studios.⠀
⠀
Artist Edgar Hernandez (@_edgarh_) took on the project for ArtPrize 2021 this fall. The transformation began with weeding, filling in cracks, sanding and smoothing the existing court. The new court was made complete with a vibrant mural created with anti-skid textured paint, custom translucent yellow acrylic backboards, new rims, and brass chain nets."
