From the day we wrapped production, Specter (and its color scheme) has not left me since.

How could I explain to you the amount of sleepless nights, long conversations, and herculean efforts that took to make Specter a reality?

Films start as a little idea in your head. Then the best people in your life encourage you to turn it into a script.

Then rewrites, and rewrites, and rewrites, and the feedback from those you dare be vulnerable with.

Images start to form, and you start building the basis of what ends up becoming your sole focus for a very long time.

People underestimate how long it takes to make a film. How every paycheck, every second, every thought goes towards one thing.

But filmmakers understand that effort. And every filmmaker that was a part of Specter matched that energy tenfold.

The filmmakers who were a part of prep, figuring out logistics and funding for a project that was ambitious from the start. The filmmakers I had meetings with about every single detail of this movie. The cast that went past their usual comforts, to try something new. The crew members, that climbed literal boulders (!!!) with equipment to get THE shot.

And those same crew members that ooed and awed every time we started rolling, despite how much effort they had just put to make that shot a reality.

This has permeated through the entirety of post production. And it has carried me well past any point I’ve reached before.

Editing Specter has been a daily grind of incremental steps towards something that I am very proud of. While we are still in post production, I see its potential clearly visible on the horizon.

I get to take these experiences with me forever, and share my knowledge with folks when I can (which I’ll be sharing on @couch.chat)

Filmmaking is a marathon, and I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to finish this race.

Friends, family, and filmmakers have all gotten me to where I am now. And I will never forget it.

Thank you to the crew of Specter, you made this film what it is.

And thank you @alexienlong you have always been there since day zero, when this film was just an idea and said

“yes, let’s do it”
