To say I’m late to the trend is understatement… but a little appreciation as I can’t believe the summer is coming to an end. It’s been months since I graduated now and it’s getting real 🎓
.
It’s been a peroid of ups and downs, seeing my career go places I never even dreamed I could achieve. And to have people I love happy for me means the world. There was some stressful moments (a lot of deadlines, family health scares, and realizing how expensive/exhausting it can get in the city) but happy to see things really can work out. I’ll be posting some exciting stuff soon I promise. Bit a little break from my radio silence :)

It’s never too late to post, right? 😝

Two months later, and I still have @adobe 99U on the brain. Those keynotes and conversations left me buzzing with energy! I’m *continuously* grateful for this community and every opportunity I have to connect with these legends in person.

This conference was such a fun collaboration, and (I might be biased) but the best part was how much students and early-career creatives got to take center stage throughout the event. Our poster gallery featured artists who were specifically commissioned for 99U and had a sweet opportunity to receive creative direction from @swissmiss. We also had portrait photographers on-site to support and learn on-the-job alongside *the* @lindsayadler_photo.

Opportunities to work on real briefs, in real contexts, with real mentors are incredibly important for the industry, and I’m so proud to work on the Adobe Creative Apprenticeship team. Today I had the privilege of attending Commencement at Pratt Institute @prattinstitute and graduating my first generation of students, the Class of 2026. It was an incredible honor to share this moment with such thoughtful, generous, and talented students.

Watching them reach this milestone, I also found myself reflecting on my own journey, as I completed my first year teaching at the institution. I leave this year with nothing but gratitude, in what has been, without a doubt, one of the most professionally rewarding years of my life in education.

Thank you to all of my students, who have shaped and challenged me in ways I could not have imagined, and to my colleagues in the @prattbfacomd Communication Design Illustration department for your generosity, wisdom, and friendship. I truly could not have asked for a better first year as a tenure-track professor.

Here’s to many more years of learning, teaching, making, and growing together.

Four years felt so fast, and the great period of my life. I will always love Pratt with my whole heart (I don’t want to leave…)
.
I thank everyone, the kind people that came to say hello last night, my teachers, mentors, and best friends. I was told once ‘you only need one person in your court rooting for you to find success’ I feel amazingly overwhelmed to have a whole crowd of those I love.
.
This last semester was overwhelming with joy, success, and I cannot wait to see the next generations take success after us
.

Immensely joyful for this year 💌🍂
.
I never expected to have such love, joy and kindness in my life at Pratt, and yet that is how this chapter of my life has felt. I’m so grateful for all that have supported and uplifted me, mentors and my freind even when things in my personal life felt difficult. There was many tears and times I felt things felt unreachable, no matter how hard I tried.

And in those moments I had friends and mentors remind me more than ever I should never give up to fears. The Society of Illustrators scholarship found me when loans felt crushing, and I will always be indebted to their kindness. Thank you all that have seen me grow change and start my career. It’s been a special four years of my life, and thank you for letting me be apart of your lives (and feeds) as well 🧡🍂

“Cut your potatoes and carrots into cubes that are about an inch thick. In a shallow pot, add your vegetables, soy sauce, vinegar, and minced garlic. Add protein to the mixture. Allow it to cook for a few minutes. Dad sits on the bench by our dining table, a kitchen set we’ve had since I was an infant. He watches the History Channel as he waits for the meat to marinate and tells me about the men on Oak Island’s recent findings. Check every 5 minutes.”

In this piece, Roevin-Marri weaves prose through their dad’s adobo recipe, guiding us through their memories of this meal, their father, and the stories he’s shared with them. Roevin-Marri explores the bitterness of adulthood alongside the pride and comfort that is felt when our parent’s recipes are successfully executed, although it will never taste as good. One more photo dump from NY!! ❤️

@adobe hosted a design sprint with 12 mega-talented students/grads who had a mere 2 HOURS to design, animate, illustrate, or otherwise create a unique concept that fit the theme “I Always Think It’s Forever”. This theme was an homage to our special guest @timothygoodman, who signed copies of his graphic memoir and sat with over 200 creatives for a fireside chat (moderated by @finncreate) about being scrappy, building community, and exercising the courage to create.

I absolutely adored watching what these students/grads were able to create in such a short time! 😍 Massive congrats to @noelledarts and @iceberg.the.niceberg for receiving the popular/audience vote AND judges’ choice. Such a cool concept and I fully expect an invite when you make The Memory Pond happen! Special mention to @moeebii and @_joannazzz.pdf as well, who used a combination of design, animation, and music to create a series of 10 posters representing key lessons from @timothygoodman ‘s memoir.

As always, a huge thanks to my teammates who made this event happen, especially @meganelisabethreinhardt @n0.rman @jordandeneellis and @katrinatorrijos. Y’all are the best. ✨

“In longevity, making graduate education more expensive and harder to repay risks undermining the very innovation, and talent that will be needed to sustain the economy. The cost of this bill extends far beyond the federal budget; it will be students who pay for it.”

In this opinion piece, Sasha Guobadia examines how the loan restrictions and cuts to Grad PLUS in the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” may unintentionally discourage an entire demographic from pursuing advanced degrees, exacerbating socioeconomic divides. Graduate education has long been a path to upward mobility, particularly for underrepresented and financially disadvantaged communities. The Hidden Cost of the Big Beautiful Bill explores the long-term risks this policy shift poses—not just to individuals, but to the nation’s workforce and equity goals. Sasha poses the question: as the bill touts progress, we must ask: progress for whom?
