Wading thru the water, we came across this charming surprise, an inukshuk tucked into a small cave along an Old Man tributary a ways off grid in the south west Foothills. Enjoyed many excellent negroni's and this fabulous ribeye with roast zucchini before we got smoked out by wildfire from the East Kootenays by 1:30 a.m. boo hoo. Another extraordinary off-road adventure with @offgridtrek Rene Strinholm

Overlanding, at least for us, has never been about the destination. It’s about the people beside you when you get there.

The belly laughs that echo through camp. The stories that get better every time they’re told. The meals shared under open skies. The late-night campfires. The friendships forged on dusty roads and strengthened one adventure at a time.

The rigs are cool… but the connections are what keep us coming back.

Why do you overland? 🤙🏼‼️

From parking lot to paradise, @theoverlandconnect putting on a great day of over landing fun shenanigans. Then into the bush to this awesome spot for a night in the wild. Good times.

That’s a wrap for the 5th annual Vernon Overland Connect!

A HUGE thanks to everyone who came down for the day, who travelled from far and wide and who are as passionate as we are about our rigs, our community and about sharing our travel stories. Also, to our volunteers and our vendors. YOU all are what makes this day what it is! 👏

Shoutout to the winners of this year’s Best in Show. 🏆 First up we have @chimera_offroad and his 2006 FZJ79 Toyota Land Cruiser from South Africa. Second up we have @goingglobal.faves and their out of this world 1995 Defender 130 named Fitz. Thirdly we have @frank_goes_offroad and their stacked INEOS Grenadier. Congratulations to all of these builds - thanks for your passion and for sharing them.

Stay tuned to for more moments from this year’s Vernon Overland Connect and Red Deer Overland Connect brought to you by our pro photographers. Who knows, maybe your rig will land on our feed. 💥
