LET’S TALK HEMOSTATICS.

One of my favorite topics!

Today we’re breaking down Celox Rapid and Rapid Ribbon.

Same chitosan-based technology, different dimensions, different applications.

Both are designed to control severe bleeding, but neither replaces proper wound packing, direct pressure, or reassessment.

Know your equipment. Understand the science. Master the fundamentals.

What’s your preferred hemostatic agent?

One of the best parts of teaching tactical medicine is the people we get to meet along the way.

During our last Tactical Medicine with Live Fire class, I had the opportunity to train @ofc_deforest , Ohio’s first deaf police officer.

Carl is a great example of how dedication, determination, and a willingness to learn can break barriers.

It was a awesome to have Carl in class, and we appreciate him trusting us with his training!

Your tourniquet can’t save your life if you can’t reach it when seconds matter.

When severe bleeding happens, seconds matter. If your TQ is buried in a backpack, locked in your car, or still sealed in plastic packaging, it may as well not be there when you need it most.

Whether you’re a first responder or a responsibly prepared civilian, your life-saving equipment should be where you can reach it right now not where you hope you can get to it.

Carry it where it counts. Be ready.

I firmly believe that most people, especially those in law enforcement, will find themselves rendering medical aid long before they ever have to use their firearm in the line of duty.

Medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, traumatic injuries, and life-threatening situations happen every single day. These are incidents that both first responders and everyday civilians are far more likely to encounter.

We spend countless hours training to defend lives. We should be putting that same effort into learning how to save them.

You don’t need to be a paramedic to make a difference. You just need the knowledge, skills, and confidence to act when it matters most.

Train with your weapon. Train with your medical equipment. Be proficient in both.

Be Ready. Be the Difference.

I’ve spent years learning how to save human lives. Now I’m determined to become just as capable in K9 medicine.

I have a lot to learn, and I’m not afraid to admit it.

These dogs put their lives on the line for us. They deserve medical providers willing to put in the work for them.

I swear I’m going to get good at this.

The purpose of the stitch drill is to quickly identify the threat and engage your target while working the shots from bottom to top .facial expressions can be deceiving,so in most cases it’s always better to look at the hands to determine lethal or non lethal force .practice the drill from 5 to 6 feet .#foryourpage #military #shootingtactics tactics

Let's talk about "bullet proof" and what happens behind the armor. I had the pleasure of seeing a demo comparing the industry standard Level IIIa helmets up against some new technology. It may stop a pistol round but what does the deformation do your skull/brain? Could you still have a fatal wound without a pass-through? No need to debate this vs that but understanding NIJ standards for vest shouldn't be viewed as the same for brain buckets.

The gear you carry should have a purpose.

For me, the Glock 19, SOCP, and IPOK cover three very different problems: defense, a compact backup tool, and the ability to treat serious trauma when seconds matter.

Different tools. Different roles. All carried with purpose.

Be capable. Be prepared.
