It is a great honour to introduce our artists for the 2026 Lust*Art Exhibition starting with @office.ties 💞

Office is a collective based in Brussel consisting of mara ittel, isa weber, cris e. fidelis, ros del olmo and dagmar dirkx.

Inspired by past and present lesbian bars, it is a space for queer and trans people to exchange, talk, flirt, write, watch movies and dance together.
They came together in spring 2024 attending to the need for queer spaces in Brussels. They have collaborated with au Jus, Goethe Institut Brüssel, S3xy Kesser Vater, Les Grands Carmes and SVĚTOVA 1. Each event opens a dialogue with the space and the audience which we collaborate with, often in the form of invitations to collaborate, publications, shared questions, experiences and research, readings, dancefloors, drink recipes and others.

"Our bar hosts a living collection of queer correspondences: sticky notes from your roommate, poems, fan mail, sapphic love-letters, lyrics, voice-notes for your platonic partner, and more. You’re invited to contribute! Come to ask a question to the oracle of love letters and share a drink with us!"

FR28.8.26 – SO 30.8.26 Lust*Art: «Space Eggs»
an Exhibition by KASKO and Lust*Streifen Film Festival
@luststreifen.festival during Kunsttage Basel
@kunsttagebasel

Curated by @pietrovitali and @sorayaoriana

Acting as a sluice, the artwork “Would you like to wear my coat? – A queer bar” by collective Office @office.ties invites visitors to talk, flirt and dance together entering into the realm of queer realities. The space then opens up to the installation works by Noa Steiner and Joaquina Salgado @joaquina.s , which enliven KASKO with fragile relationships, textile intimacies, and digital personas, while also conjuring up otherworldly-looking spaceships that transport visitors into a galactic reality.

“SpaceEggs” is also underpinned by the language of performative interventions. Lean Rüegg @leanruegg advocates for the sharing of embodied knowledge and intimacies as a strategy of political resistance.Through letters and performances, artists Lenn Bjoerk @ibuproflenn and Ulas Ekin Toprak stage a reading that recounts the harsh reality of isolation and the attacks on refugees, queer people, and transgender individuals. Their work— which imagines a dystopian takeover by right-wing forces and envisions queer bodies being banished from Earth and classified as refugees in space—has directly influenced the concept of Space Eggs. This reference becomes an act of resistance and a reclamation of space itself: our shells are delicate yet resilient vessels for survival, identity, and defiance.

Freak City is a zine that explores the notions of freak collectively departing from questions that arose around the filmography of Ulrike Ottinger, especially Freak Orlando. This publication glues together texts, images, photos, and interviews into a sticky, brooding chimney city of Freak Stories.

📅 Don't miss the zine launch on February 15, 2025, at one of @office.ties fabulous dyke bar evenings, this time at Brussels' queer cultural center Les Grands Carmes.

✨ With contributions by: ive, cande lázaro, isabelle weber, @dagmardirkx, @rosdelolmo, @mararararam, ire, pia louwerens, sara grütter, jori(k) a. galama, laurène buchheit, vera mühlebach, isabel gruppo, melissa mabesoone, merce za, @cristina__mel.

One week left for the portal of Freak City to open…. 🗝️🗝️ and we are really excited to receive with warmth and admiration to all who contributed to the very soul and body of the zine:

To Ulrike Ottinger for her inspiring film oeuvre and for taking her time to talk with us, as well as Mama Tituba for welcoming us into their drag queer world, to McKenzie Wark for agreeing to include her quickly scribbled down quote in our zine, and to all the freaky fantastic contributions by: ive, cande lázaro, isa weber, dagmar dirkx, ros del olmo, mara ittel, ire, pia louwerens, sara grütter, jori(k) a. galama, laurène buchheit, vera mühlebach, isabel gruppo, melissa mabesoone, merce za and cris e. fidelis

See you all on saturday, 15th on @grandscarmes !!💘

ᗯEᒪᑕOᗰE TO TᕼE OᖴᖴIᑕE!
Bring your crushes and friends and join us for a deep dive into the world of sapphic love letters. A casual hangout in a queer environment.

We will start with a workshop where we will follow different writing prompts around (love) letters and poetic longing, beyond and around. Please sign up via officebxl@proton.me.
Throughout and after there will be time for hanging out with cake, coffee and cocktails (payments can only be made in cash).

And did you know, the 21st of June is also the day of summer solstice, the best moment to summon up your courage and pass your crush a post-it note with your phone number or admit your feelings to them, before the days become shorter and darker again.
