🚨🇮🇳 A HISTORIC BREAKTHROUGH & A SIGNIFICANT REVOLUTION FOR FOREIGN MEDICAL GRADUATES IN MAHARASHTRA! 🩺✊

From NEET-PG eligibility to stipend implementation and action against illegal fee charges — Maharashtra has witnessed significant progress for Foreign Medical Graduates!

The journey of AIMSA-FMSW Maharashtra has been marked by persistent efforts, representations, RTIs, grievances, comparative studies, and continuous meetings with the concerned authorities to address the long-standing challenges faced by FMGs.

Today, we proudly highlight some of the significant milestones achieved through these sustained efforts! ❤️‍🩹

📌 1️⃣ NEET-PG 2026 ELIGIBILITY BREAKTHROUGH

The Maharashtra NEET-PG 2026 guidelines explicitly state:

📜 “Candidates who have passed MBBS examination from foreign University are eligible only for Institutional Quota seats for NEET-PG 2026 admission process under Competent Authority, State CET Cell.”

This is an important step towards expanding academic opportunities for Foreign Medical Graduates in Maharashtra. The explicit recognition of FMG eligibility for Institutional Quota seats marks meaningful progress following continuous representations and follow-ups with the concerned authorities.

📌 2️⃣ THREE SUCCESSFUL YEARS OF STIPEND ALLOTMENT TO FMGs! 💰🩺

Maharashtra has completed three successful years of stipend allotment to Foreign Medical Graduates, with eligible FMG interns receiving a monthly stipend of ₹18,000, equivalent to that provided to Indian Medical Graduate interns in Maharashtra, as applicable under the relevant provisions.
Also now stipend hike issue has been raised at par equivalent to Indian Medical Graduates.

This achievement represents an important step towards financial fairness, recognition, and dignity for FMG interns undergoing Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI).

📌 3️⃣ ACTION AGAINST ILLEGAL FEE CHARGES ⚖️

Sustained efforts have also contributed to stopping illegal fee charges imposed on FMGs, addressing a major concern affecting Foreign Medical Graduates and their families.

We Strongly Condemn the Alleged Use of Fake Documents for Registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC)

All platforms supporting the Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) community strongly condemn the reported incident involving the alleged use of fraudulent documents to obtain registration through the Maharashtra Medical Council’s online portal.

It is deeply concerning and disheartening to learn about such an incident. We urge all Foreign Medical Graduates to refrain from using fake certificates, forged documents, or any fraudulent means to obtain registration. Such actions may lead to serious legal consequences and can jeopardise one’s medical career.

AIMSA-FMSW has consistently worked to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Foreign Medical Graduates, advocating for:

* The demand for three FMGE attempts per year.
* Greater transparency in the FMGE examination process.
* A balanced examination framework, with a proposed distribution of 30% Easy, 50% Moderate, and 20% Difficult questions.
* Equal treatment and appropriate privileges for FMGs and Indian Medical Graduates (IMGs) during internship, as per applicable regulations.

Despite our continuous efforts to secure legitimate opportunities and fair treatment for the FMG community, incidents of this nature are deeply disappointing. Such acts can undermine the credibility of genuine FMGs who are working hard to complete their registration and establish their medical careers through lawful means.

We appeal to every FMG: Do not fall into the trap of fraudulent agents or shortcuts. Always follow the official registration procedure, submit genuine documents, and seek clarification from the concerned authorities whenever in doubt.

Let us protect the dignity of our profession, uphold medical ethics, and ensure that the genuine efforts of thousands of Foreign Medical Graduates are not overshadowed by the actions of a few.

Integrity is non-negotiable. Our fight is for the legitimate rights of FMGs, and it must always remain within the framework of law.
