When I came up with the michelinman dinner party series late last year I figured I should wait until I had 2-3 years of momentum, press coverage, and proof of concept under my belt before I started pitching to restaurants outside of North America. But a few months later, after a couple of successful collaborations stateside, I decided that playing the waiting game was dumb. So I started pitching the concept to restaurants all over the world.

It turns out playing the waiting game WAS dumb because in January I’m headed to Switzerland for a 5-night residency at one of the most innovative restaurants in Europe, @caaa_lucerne. This is maybe the biggest thing I’ve done in my career so far and I’m real grateful for the opportunity. Lucerne imma see you in a month 🙏🏾

We continue our story — and introduce the final voices of Episode One.
For the third and concluding series of Behind the Key’s by CAAA, we welcome
Cristian Gadau and Joanna Slusarczyk @foodrebelx @joannaphd — the minds behind The Best Chef Awards @thebestchefawards .
Born in Sardinia, a land where food is identity and memory, Cristian carries a free and rebellious spirit. Leaving home young, he discovered gastronomy not as a profession, but as culture, responsibility, and language. This journey shaped a vision that would later become More than a list — a platform where history, technique, science, and human values converge.
Joanna, PhD in neuropsychopharmacology, comes from Krakow and the world of neuroscience. Her work bridges gastronomy and science, intuition and research. Through Food Meets Science @foodmeetsscience, she connects chefs, scientists, and producers — believing that the future of food lies in knowledge, respect for land, and non-invasive innovation.
This conversation goes beyond rankings.
It speaks about culture, responsibility, and how food can shape a better world.
