We were in Canada. Andy was mid-training, and he stopped and started praying over the room.

Nobody planned it. Nobody cued it. The whole team just went to their knees right there, and then the room did too.

I looked to my left and my right and saw Greg and Denny shedding the same tears I was. That’s how I knew we were all on the same mission. Not working the same job. On the same mission.

This company was built to teach people how to sell. God turned it into something else. Now we watch marriages come back, fathers come home, and men who were about to quit decide to stay.

We’re not doing this. He is. We just showed up and said yes.

Less than a year ago, I took on the largest, most challenging
refurbishing project of my life. In order to do so, woodworking
had to be put on hold for a while. That project had been on my
To do list for multiple years but was constantly push down at
the bottom of my priority list….to start “maybe” tomorrow. But for some reason, tomorrow never came. In November last year, Mel and I met a fantastic team in Arizona. The goal of us coming down here was for Mel to get some business training. I tagged along as the “+1”, not expecting much of it. To say that I was “wrong” is an understatement. Listening to Andy, Jacqueline and Greg speaking made me realized that what I wanted to achieve in my life was just “1” decision away. Relying on motivation only to achieve a goal is deemed to fail. Deciding “who” you want to become, changing your identity and leaving your life as the person you want to become is the only way.

…. Here’s a few pics of my progress journey

STOP OVERRIDING YOURSELF.

This photo was taken during a season when I was trying to grow by following someone else’s blueprint.

I look happy, but I wasn’t.

Mentors I respected encouraged me to become more public-facing—to speak on bigger stages to reach more people and create greater impact.

So I listened.

This wasn’t fear. I could speak, but I just didn’t connect with it.

I already knew that.

My work has always come alive in the weeds—one-to-one, in small groups, coaching, teaching, connecting people, finding donors, organizing events, helping someone with what’s right in front of them.

But I questioned what I knew about myself because people I respected saw another path for me.

So there I was, in the middle of a lupus flare, doing what I know how to do:

I showed up.
I was strong.
I was grateful.
I tried.

And I confirmed what I already knew.

Just because I can do something doesn’t mean it’s mine to do.

There will always be a wagon everyone seems to be jumping on. A faster path. A more visible path. A strategy someone swears will get you where you want to go.

Listen. Learn. Try new things.

But don’t override what you know for certain about yourself.

Especially in midlife. Especially when navigating chronic illness.

Your body is communicating with you. Your spirit is communicating with you. And God may be whispering something entirely different from what the world is shouting.

Listen.

Because continually forcing a body already under stress to carry what your soul knows isn’t yours isn’t growth.

For me, it was overriding the very vessel I need to do the work I am here to do.

My path may be quieter. Slower. Less visible.

That’s okay.

I want to expand—spiritually, physically, mentally and financially—but not by sacrificing the vessel carrying me there.

Nourish the vessel. Trust your knowing. Honor the path that is yours. 🦋

👉I did not grow up around a single person who did this for a living.

The path I got handed was simple. Find a job. Trade your hours for a number somebody else picked. Get a small raise once a year and act grateful for it. Nobody in my world was talking about a skill you could learn that pays you for outcomes instead of hours.

Then I found high ticket sales, and it did not just change my income. It changed what I was allowed to want.

It gave me back my time. I stopped asking permission to be at the things that matter. My calendar belongs to me now, and if my wife needs me on a Tuesday afternoon, I am there. That was not on the table before and I did not know it was ever going to be.

It gave me somewhere to put every competitive thing in me that used to have nowhere to go. This work grades you every single day. Nobody fakes it and nobody hides. I needed that more than I understood at the time.

It made me a better man before it made me anything else. You cannot sit across from somebody, tell him the truth about his situation, and ask him to bet on himself if you are not doing it yourself. This job forces you to grow or it removes you.

And it gave me people. A room full of men who expect more from me than I was ever going to expect from myself.

Here is why I am posting this.

If you are sitting in something right now with a ceiling on it, and you have been telling yourself that this is just how it goes, I want you to know there is another door. It is not luck. It is not who your family knew. It is a skill, and skills are learnable by anybody willing to be bad at something in front of other people for a while.

I was not special. I just found out this existed.

Comment HIGH TICKET SALES below and I will send you the full breakdown of what this career actually looks like, what the seats are, and how people get into one.
