🚨 The verdict is in on The Best Minds by Jonathan Rosen: true story, complicated book.

This nonfiction true crime memoir about a brilliant man with paranoid schizophrenia who murdered his girlfriend had plenty to discuss, but I ultimately couldn’t get past how much the book glazes the murderer while leaving the victim in the background.

@offmybookshelf and I buddy read this one, and the verdict was… conflicted. She wanted to read House of Leaves so this is totally on me 🤦🏻‍♀️

Also, was Crazy Train an insensitive song choice? I mean…not under the circumstances. Have you ever been let down by the way an author framed a story? Tell me below

The July Thriller Buddy Read is officially UNDERWAY! We are diving into Gray After Dark by @noelleihliauthor and if the first few pages are any indication we are in for a brutal, tense ride.

An elite athlete sidelined by injury takes a solo run in the remote Idaho backcountry... and steps straight into a living nightmare. This one promises to be gritty, fast-paced, and completely unhinged.

I’m so excited to tackle this survival thriller with this incredible group of buddies:

After finishing Lonesome Dove, I needed a complete change of pace… so I went right to my thriller TBR to pick my next read! It’s fast-paced & under 300 pages. 📚🏚️

And this past unboxing got even better because when I opened my gifted copy from @offmybookshelf , there was another surprise waiting inside. 🤍✨

Have you ever found unexpected bookish accessories inside a book?

POV: your reward for getting off your booty for a month turns into a full-blown comedy special 📚🏆😂 @offmybookshelf convinced me to complete a step challenge and her incredible prize package absolutely delivered.

Between the industrial-strength tape, the completely chaotic surprise items, and the dramatic battle just to break into the box, this unboxing had me laughing the entire time. And somehow the book haul at the end made it even better 👏✨

Scroll all the way to the end for the full reveal because these books were worth every second of the struggle 💀📦

If you love funny book mail, chaotic unboxings, reader gifts, and true bookstagram energy, like, save and share. Tell me about your fav book mail in the comments 💬
