Iris Unfolding 🪻 My latest painting. She will be up for silent auction tonight at the First Thursday WA Advocacy Gallery & Silent Auction at COR Group Showroom in Pioneer Square. Tonight's gallery and silent auction is hosted by the Consortium of Interior Design at COR Group Showroom and is part of the Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk. Proceeds from the event support Commercial Interior Design Legislation in Washington. October 1st 5-8 PM COR Group Showroom 505 1st Ave S, Suite 120 Seattle This piece is a loose, large-scale reimagining of an iris motif from one of my earlier still-life series: Salish Iris. It was inspired by an iris I passed on walks near my home. One stem had a tendency to fall into the pathway. I'd stop to lift and brace it up, a small, recurring act of tending to something in nature that, like all living things, sometimes needed a little support. 💜 24 × 48 in. Acrylic on 1/2-inch birch panel Come see the show with live music, refreshments, and live painting, then wander the First Thursday Art Walk with all the incredible art this city has to share! 😍 For more information about tonight’s event, visit my Exhibitions page at ofmossandmemory.com. 💋 #FineArt #ContemporaryPainting #SeattleArtist #SeattleArt #PioneerSquareArtWalk fineartistpnw

Meet mixed media artist Tressa Mae @ofmossandmemory of Camp Fluff 🌃Seattle! Tressa says “My work is rooted in a nostalgic awareness of time and the traces it leaves behind, or spaces yet to become. I paint flowers as they bloom, bow, soften, and change; fruit marked by aging; and handmade vessels whose irregularities and worn surfaces carry evidence of the maker's hand that came before. During a period of serious illness, my relationship with everything changed. I became acutely aware of time and began noticing life at every stage with such reverence.” Catch Tressa's work Saturday, September 26 at Camp Fluff Seattle at @theruom at 6PM. See more at ofmossandmemory.com and flufflosangeles.com. #campfluff #seattle
