Most people think hypnotherapy is about being put under a spell. The research tells a very different story. In a randomized clinical trial, gut-directed hypnotherapy was found to be as effective as a low FODMAP diet for improving IBS symptoms, with around 70% of participants experiencing meaningful improvement. Why does this matter for endometriosis? Because the gut, pelvic organs, and brain are constantly communicating. Many people with endometriosis also experience: • Bloating • Constipation • Diarrhea • Abdominal pain In fact, IBS is estimated to be up to 3× more common in people with endometriosis. Researchers believe therapies like hypnotherapy may help calm overactive pain pathways, reduce visceral hypersensitivity, and improve communication between the gut and brain. Of course, visceral hypersensitivity isn't the whole story. Inflammation, active endometriosis lesions, hormones, the immune system, pelvic floor dysfunction, and many other factors can contribute to pain and digestive symptoms. But even within that bigger picture, hypnotherapy may be a valuable tool for helping calm an overprotective nervous system and supporting symptom management. It means the nervous system plays an important role in how pain is experienced — and sometimes it needs support too. 💬 Have you ever tried hypnotherapy, meditation, breathwork, or other nervous system practices for your symptoms? 👇 We'd love to hear your experience. Comment "HYPNO" and we'll send you access to learn and practice hypnotherapy for endometriosis through the Endo45 app. Sources: Peters et al., 2016 (Gut-directed hypnotherapy vs low FODMAP diet for IBS); van der Houte et al., 2022 (Endometriosis & IBS meta-analysis).

#repost @oh.wellco When talking about nutrition for endometriosis online and in groups, I find myself super conflicted. I find myself both simultaneously wanting to advocate for the role for nutrition, but not overstate it’s benefit. I find myself want to shout from the roof tops that nutrition is SUCH an important piece of the puzzle, whilst also shouting “but it is just ONE piece of the puzzle.” But I guess that’s exactly why I created the Nourish for Endometriosis online course. A place where people can go to get a balanced approach to nourishing themselves for endo. Knowing that it’s full of things that can help improve symptoms, but I’m not selling a miracle cure. And most importantly, your relationship with food will be prioritised in the process. It dives into everything you need to know about nourishing yourself when living with endo. From soothing your pain, to getting more energy, to reducing pesky gut symptoms plus so much more. Like I say in the post, I know March can be an exhausting time for people with pelvic pain and endo so I don’t want to add to the feelings of urgency and financial pressure. But I did want to offer the course at a discounted cost, just in case any of my lovely followers were wanting to sign up but couldn’t afford it at full-price. You can get a sneak peek into what’s inside over on my website (link in bio): www.nadiamaxwell.com/ endometriosisdiet Use code MARCH24 at checkout to get 35% off ($297 → $193). If you have any questions, jump in the comments or my DMs and I’ll be sure to get back to you. Nadia xx

What an afternoon - I’m excited to have finally gotten around to filming content about evidence based products that we feature across different modules of our Pelvic Health 101 course, and yes! With discount codes. I’m prioritising and wanting to collaborate and support brands that physiotherapists working in pelvic health tend to recommend to our patients. If you’re a clinician that subscribes and you don’t quite have time to explain (or don’t know how to explain) how (and why) to use these products you’ll soon be able to “prescribe” any of our educational videos through the @pelvy.app. For example we go through: - @tap.health tens machine for pain, desensitising, or trans tibial nerve stimulation (TTNS) for overactive bladder - Oh Nut for minimising penetration depth with deep dyspareunia - @bien.aus toilet stool and defecation positioning and dynamics for a good 💩. I also couldn’t help but make a video on their bidet. - @ellechemy.com.au and their range of lubricant options for v@ginas with different pathologies and needs. I really can’t wait to share about their medical lubricants which include a Telehealth consult built into the cost to ensure using a lubricant with estrogen, testosterone, or cannabis is suitable. Not pictures is: -Nadia, dietician and hypnotherapist from @oh.wellco who discusses how her skills and two courses can help those with IBS, bloating and endometriosis in our bowel module of our course - @srchealth and their range of products (I’m SUPER excited about one they’re developing to help POTS patients..🤫 and of course recommend their shorts for many reasons that I go into in various of my course modules. If you want to have access to our videos to save time spent giving the same education over and over in appointments (like how and why to use a TENS machine or oh nut) - you can if you subscribe to use Pelvy with your patients. Do you have any other products your like videos for to easily “prescribe” to your patient’s Pelvy app? If you’re an evidence based pelvic heath brand who helps with pelvic heath in some way you can also reach out. #pelvichealth #pelvichealthphysio #pelvicfloorphysicaltherapy #endometriosis #pelvicpain

Hi Instafam, Just a little announcement to let you know you’ll now find me at @oh.wellco @nadiamaxwellnutrition has been around now for 530 posts and over the course of that time, my content has evolved as I have evolved as a dietitian. And now it’s time for another evolution to reflect the holistic nature of the care we provide. Will I still be talking about nutrition? Absolutely. No one can get me off my high horse about how WHY we eat is just as important as WHAT we eat. And how our RELATIONSHIP with food is just as important too! Nor will you shut me up about how the FOUNDATIONS of nourishing ourselves are more important than the superfoods, single nutrients or individual food groups. AND you can now expect to find a little more HEALTH HYPNOSIS content. After all, as soon as I learned about the fact that there was a science-backed alternative to elimination diets for symptoms relief, I was sold. So if you still want nutrition content, but now blended with health hypnosis, visualisation, nervous system support, we got u at @oh.wellco 🤎 Nadia xx
