Happy Pride 2026🗽.

to be surrounded by others who take Pride in who they are is extremely empowering. I have an amazing community of people. It has given me the refuge and confidence to just exist. Especially Ballroom! I never thought I’d have the courage/confidence to be wearing a skirt outside. Even as a Queer Black Man I’m still working to heal and unlearn patterns and thoughts that are confining/imprisoning. I’ve held myself to crippling standards of upholding society’s idea of what a man should be doing, should be saying and how I should act. Hearing, “Men don’t wear that”, “f*gg*t”, “you dress like a girl” “batty boy”. Feeling like I’ll be found less attractive or seen as less masculine if I wear this or that. I sometimes have to give myself a talk in the mirror to feel confident, prepare myself for the whispers and stares. I’m still gon’ wear/exist how I want. I encourage people to be who you want to be! Stop waiting! …on permission, on the right time or moment - just do it! You never know who you’re inspiring by just showing up authentically yourself/by just being you! What sucks is that, it’s sometimes the negative comments that stick - but pft brush it off 💪🏾 I’m not here to be liked by everyone - I’d never be happy. I’m here to live my life to the fullest! To make myself happy! Don’t let someone’s own insecurities/self hatred affect your light. I felt sexy lmao 🫦 and I also received maddd compliments btw 🙈🥹💪🏾🫶🏾 - appreciate the love ALWAYSSS. To my friends/village I love yall, thank you for helping restore my fire/light. I’m really reminded by some of yalls walks of life/ resiliency of how strong you have to be, to LIVE and not just exist. It’s a choice to be “free”, to choose to be happy/your happiness.
