On Saturday 28 November, Sircula returns with a festive twist. This time, we’re curating the Filly Brook Festive Fayre, bringing together brilliant local makers and independent brands, with gifts for the people you love (and self-gifting is absolutely allowed). The line-up is looking hot! Much more on this clever lot soon, but here’s a little taste of what to expect… ✨ A ceramicist whose vases and candle holders will give you the best-dressed table. ✨ A luxurious faux fur accessories brand, with more besides… each piece made & designed beautifully. ✨ A vintage jewellery trader with an eye for pieces you’ll find impossible to walk past. ✨ A local creative artist whose former Francis Road shop we still miss. ✨ An independent brand with a love of hand embroidery and adornment. And oh, those shoes… ✨ Wine gift boxes from Filly Brook: natural wines, rich reds and full-bodied whites. The new wine list is delicious, with something for every table. And then, of course, there’s me, with a small, carefully chosen edit of winter and party pieces: silks, velvets and other gorgeous fabrics. I’m hoping to add a couple more names to this already brilliant line-up. All this, alongside music, mulled wine and maybe the odd carol or two. Saturday 28th of November · 1 til 6pm

They want you small and quiet and still and over it and they want you managing it all alone. Dressing like you have somewhere to be is a way of refusing that. Adornment over accumulation means nothing gets made new that doesn’t have to be. Most of it has already had a life, sourced or brought to me from people’s own wardrobes. What I make new, I make because it didn’t exist yet, like Fortunate Souls, built for long nights and longer days with a phrase on the sole only the wearer will find. It’s all finished by hand in London and none of it is made fast. It’s for people who were told to pick between looking good and doing good and thought, nah..’

Despite the restrictions being lifted on Monday 19th July, we will continue to wear masks at Store Store, and we ask that all those visiting do too, unless exempt. We want to protect our students, our teachers, and their families - especially as many haven’t had both doses of the vaccine yet. We feel that this is a simple way to limit the spread of COVID as the cases rise across the country, and keep our community safe. The good news is that we have these amazing reusable masks available to buy from STORE STORE with all proceeds from the sales supporting our After School Club educational programme for state school students. See link in bio for webshop. The masks are handmade in London by Serena Wilson at @btsylondonand custom dyed in unique patterns, inspired by 70s subcultures. The fit is snug across the face with adjustable elastic that fits over the head. Well hello there! It’s another #sharethemic day, where I’ve opened up my platform (taking lead from @sharethemicuk @sharethemicnow ) Today, is the charming Serena! “My business @btsylondon began making hand sanitiser and face masks during the first lockdown in March 2020, initially to keep my friends and family safe, to keep busy and in turn maintain my mental health. Previously I was curating and marketing 25,000 to 50,000 capacity events prior to lockdown but in a matter of days my role had disappeared with no real idea of when it would return. I followed @Wernchat for many months and at the time of lockdown the 'pivot' was at the forefront of her messaging so guess what....I followed that advice. My masks are reusable, washable, and made with natural fabrics. What makes them different from others is that they are filter backed so additional filters aren't necessary, although I do supply an extra, AND you can wear them with pride around your neck when not in use, so its not hanging off your ear or at the bottom of your bag collecting dust. They are also embroidered with the BTSY logo or custom embroidered with your brand. When I started out, I was making everything end to end myself, which gave me a real understanding of what makes a good mask and what is needed to make it effective without comprising on design.
