I had such a great time at the Carroll Community Festival today! 💜💛

I’m so thankful for the honor of serving as Grand Marshal and for the incredible support this community continues to show me. Seeing so many businesses and people rally behind me and my journey means so much. I’m truly thankful for this amazing community and everyone who continues to cheer me on! 🛷💫

Demonstrating its continued commitment to developing future leaders, American Legion Post 613 proudly conducted a Business Clothing Drive in support of the 2026 Buckeye Boys State program, held June 14–21, 2026, at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Buckeye Boys State provides high school students from across Ohio with a hands-on opportunity to learn about government, leadership, and civic responsibility. Throughout the week-long program, participants are expected to dress professionally for many of the activities, making business attire an important part of the experience.

To help ensure that every delegate had access to appropriate professional clothing, members of American Legion Post 613 came together to collect business attire for the young men attending the program. Thanks to the generosity of Post members and supporters, the clothing drive resulted in the donation of:

* 52 ties
* 4 belts
* 10 full suits
* 1 pair of black dress shoes
* 2 suit jackets
* 19 dress shirts
* 45 pairs of slacks

These donations helped provide many Buckeye Boys State participants with the professional attire needed to confidently participate in interviews, ceremonies, and leadership activities throughout the week.

“Supporting our youth is one of the most important investments we can make,” said American Legion Post 613 Commander Jason Ward. “By providing these young men with professional clothing, we’re helping build confidence while reinforcing the values of leadership, responsibility, and service that Buckeye Boys State represents.”

American Legion Post 613 extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to the clothing drive. Through the generosity of our members and community, we continue to make a positive impact on the lives of Ohio’s future leaders.

American Legion Post 613 remains dedicated to supporting veterans, youth programs, and community initiatives that strengthen our nation and inspire the next generation of leaders.

As we close out another incredible week at Buckeye Boys State, we are filled with pride, hope, and deep gratitude. Over the past week, we witnessed young leaders step into roles as mayors, legislators, judges, and citizens — each one learning the power of civic responsibility, service, and working across differences.

While the colors are retired, the Buckeye Boys State flag remains on stage and salutes you, the delegates of the 88th Session of the American Legion Buckeye Boys State, as you depart from Miami University.

To the delegates: Your energy, curiosity, and courage to lead gives us faith in the future of our country. You came together from all across Ohio, united by a desire to serve something greater than yourselves. Your example reminds us that leadership grounded in integrity and purpose will always matter.

To the Legionnaires, staff, and counselors who made this week possible: Thank you for showing up, sharing your wisdom, and investing into the next generation of public servants.

Help us spread the word for the 2027 program by speaking to your underclassmen and by having them follow us here and on Twitter and Instagram @OhioBBS.

To the future BBS class of 2027, we will see you in 356 days on June 13, 2027 for the 89th Session. But who’s counting?

For the last time: Gentlemen, this assembly is adjourned. We truly hope that this has been #AWeekToShapeALifetime.

I can’t explain how much of an honor it is to come back to inspiHER and be part of what they do. 💖

inspiHER has completely changed my life and opened doors I never imagined walking through. Today, I had the opportunity to lead a session on True Virtue and spend time with an incredible group of girls talking about confidence, purpose, and the importance of being unapologetically yourself.

I hope each girl left knowing that she doesn’t have to change her colors to belong and feeling more confident in who she is. ✨

I’m so grateful for all that inspiHER has poured into me over the years and for the opportunity to pour some of that back into the next generation of girls.

The American Legion Buckeye Boys State 2026 Ohio State Highway Patrol detail has been selected!

This year, we will be joined by Trooper Sandlin, Sgt. Garloch, and Sgt. Schreiber.

As always, we appreciate our partnership with the @ohiostatehighwaypatrol.

If you are a delegate interested in joining the BBS Highway Patrol Detail, they will be testing on Monday June 15th at 2:30PM during the program.

If you have any questions, make sure to find one of our Troopers at the program (and make sure to ask them about Junior Cadet Week)!

They will be with us all week, so make sure to tell them hi!!
