Happy Birthday @metrolandnow 💛🖤 So grateful to be apart of this funky little paper. It’s so special to have a creative outlet that celebrates artists and musicians in our area, I’ve met so many incredible people this year ✨& a special thanks to @erinharkes for bringing it back and keeping things weird 🤪

September 27, 2025—OHM (Albany, NY) seems to be a new not for profit music and vibes group. This was a great night! The music was dance worthy, as is quite rare to find in this region. Interpersonal note: As an autistic transgender person, I have a keen sense of when places will be safe. That's because I'm very sensitive and somewhat vulnerable just based on crowd reactions to fems. This *was* a *safe* 🏳️‍⚧️🐱 event. I saw no unsafe behavior, everyone was respectful, no one was too drunk or anything. No annoying dogs and only minor cigarette men who we told to go smoke in the corner, not the crowd center. Political note: There are rumors city officials put pressure on some factions of governance (possibly police?!) to force their will of keeping the flood lights powered on and bright - in order to annoy us. These members of Albany government need to be named, and must subsequently by vote removed during lawful election cycle. The caberete, and any other musical and venue gate keeping laws must be repealed. The forces that leverage them abolished. Context: It's been a full decade since Albany has had a cool little pop event like this. There have been others that are similar, but unfortunately they blasted dub step and transformer movie sound effects. This was different. The folks running it by my estimation are some of the kindest and spiritually aware I've encountered in a long time. They're bringing great energy to this region. My experience: I had a lot of fun dancing. Many folks treated this like what it was — a small festival. The music was loud, the bass was actually so sick (good equipment and speakers), and the parking was close enough we got to take frequently needed autistic kitty cat breaks to destim.😍The projector was cool, although the design were a bit underwhelming, the concept was a first of a kind. Especially the irony of projecting onto the Albany eyesore (central warehouse). They had water and snacks, and a small merch and outreach booth. Overall, this was a successful event. The security didn't harass anyone, and everyone had great vibes. Shout outs to the despensery for allowing this on their private lot! - Plant Priestess EO
