✨ ARC Book Review ✨ Thank you so much to @simonkids and @netgalley for the digital copy of this book to read and review! Title: Have You Seen Axel? Author: Adam Jay Epstein @adamjayepstein Illustrator: Ruth Chan @ohtruth Release Date: 10/20/26 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My daughter and I loved this book! It’s a very fun spin on a traditional seek-and-find. My daughter’s favorite parts were the pages where Axel was hiding too well and was impossible to find. We both also enjoyed looking for Gordon on every page. The pages are very detailed and colorful, with lots of fun things to stumble upon while looking. This book is similar to Where’s Waldo?, but geared towards a slightly younger audience. The main character being an axolotl is sure to be a hit as well! #HaveYouSeenAxel #NetGalley

my number one favorite job for the book festival is figuring out which authors to put together at a table. sometimes it's because I think their books complement each other, sometimes it's because I know they are pals, and sometimes I just think they and their books would ✨vibe✨ with each other. sometimes it's because the creators are married! I LOVE seeing creators' posts about becoming friends with their table mates - it's just magical 💖 (these are the seating charts we put in each creator's tote so they can find each other 😊 kidlit is a small and friendly community!)

Spelling practice doesn’t always have to mean sitting at the table with a pencil. ✏️ Try this instead: HOPSCOTCH SPELLING! 🏃‍♀️📚 🎤Shout out to my son’s tutor for this gem! Write each spelling word in a hopscotch square. ➡️ Read it ➡️ Hop to it ➡️ Spell it out loud ➡️ Say it in a sentence A little movement + a little repetition = a totally different way to review! 🙌 SAVE this for next week’s spelling words—or try it tomorrow morning before the test! 👀 Because sometimes kids don’t need MORE studying… they just need a different way to practice. ❤️ #RockawayReaders #SpellingPractice #SpellingTest #LearningThroughPlay #LiteracyAtHome

The book festival is the DAY AFTER TOMORROW and we couldn't be more excited! Today's featured creators will all be in the Trasso Tent on Saturday, and I'm really amazed at how many super talented folks are in this group. Thank you to Trasso Jiu Jitsu & Wrestling for their generous support! We'll see you on Saturday!

Book mail! You know what to do! This book, HAVE YOU SEEN AXEL is so darn cute and fun for kids and the grown ups who care for them! I@love a good seek-and-find book. It’s dialogic reading and is a fantastic way to bond with children through books, but also helps with imagination, communication, cause-and-effect, and critical thinking (among other things!). . Ask: •Where are they going? •What might happen if…? •Can you find? •Oh no…this looks like a problem…how would you fix it? •Do you think they [characters] are friends? Why or why not? . Check it out! HAVE YOU SEEN AXEL available from @simonkids @simonandschuster in late October. Makes a great gift! A great addition to your child’s school or home library. . 📸: designed & photographed by me, #leslielindsay @this.iswherewelive . #kidlit #whattoread #seekandfindbooks
