'Afterlight', the debut album from @starter.car came out on Friday!

It's one of the finest pieces of art I have been a part of, and I am so thankful for all the beautiful folk involved in making this record happen.
This band gave me so much direction and purpose when I first came to London without any plan, and it feels like a real full circle moment to be arriving back in town in time to play a bunch of shows in support of this wonderful thing we created.
Big love to @josephfutak for making these songs sound so luscious and to @_rawbin_ for always making us look hot on camera, and to @tapeterecords for your belief in this project!

See you at @shacklewellarms on Saturday for the album launch show! xx

My debut album Rotten Luck is out today ✮⋆˙

Vinyls and tapes available on Smoking Room and Lost Wisdom @smoking___room @lost____wisdom

Thanks to Mike, Oisean and Matlok for helping me put this songs together and playing on them. Joseph Futak for recording, producing and his infinite wisdom. Scoops Dardaris for Mastering. Chris and Samuelito for all the help in putting the album out

I wrote this album during a month-long residency in Lisbon, which is where I grew up. When I was 18 I told my mom that I got into a university in London, all paid for - that was a lie but it was the only way I could get on that plane. For real follow your dreams, leaving Lisbon was the best thing that ever happened to me and funnily enough going back there to write this album is probably the 2nd best thing that has happened to me.

Thanks to Rui for providing a space for me to write, Sara and Zé for housing me, and as always thanks to my sister who is the whole reason Maripool exists.
This album was made possible with the help of Fundação GDA.

First photo by my sister, the rest of the photos are from when I was writing the album. All drawings and album cover by me.
