POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Cautionary tales. Folklore. Ghost tales. Pulp mags. Urban legends. Creepypastas. Campfire stories. Encounters with the paranormal.

Human beings all over the globe have been recreationally scaring the shit out of each other ever since we first walked the earth... so let US continue the millennia-old tradition by scaring the shit out of YOU. Old-timey style.

A long-held WET tradition, 6-pack brings 6 writers together to share work along a theme for only 6 buckaroos for entry. This October, it’s “SCARY STORIES.” Gather around the Base Camp(fire) next Friday and let us spin you a yarn. (well, 6 yarns. and some tunes).

Bring your friends. Bring your enemies. Bring a blankie. Bring a priest. Bring a stingray tail. Just be there – next Friday night. Or else man door might hand hook your car door… And we can’t have that.

Ticket @ the link in bio, or show up and jumpscare us at the door.

Human beings are weird! They’re also very funny. “I love you” should be the greatest three words you’ll ever hear, but even the most resilient of us self-destruct at the worst (and sometimes best) possible moments. These four interweaving monologues shine a blinding spotlight on our ever-churning internal voices, the ones that prop us up, calm us down, and send us on chaotic mental spirals.

After a sturdy development process—thank you to Pacific Play Company, SCRIBLAB, Rain City Projects, the 2024 New Works Northwest Monologue Slam, and, of course, Annex Theatre Kiki, Brendan, the cast, and I can’t wait for people to finally experience HOW TO LEAVE. Then, for the love of god, go grab a drink afterwards.

Speaking of, the Annex bar will be open! Cheapest drinks on the Hill!

Written by Marcus Gorman & Kiki Penoyer
Directed by Brendan Mack
A one-night-only staged reading co-presented by Annex Theatre
Get your tickets now at annextheatre.org for in-person and livestreaming!

Four people, four moments, four tough decisions. A young actor coming down from a breakup contemplates moving in with his dashing director. A photographer stuck working at a department store considers a marriage proposal from her high school sweetheart. A washed-up singer reflects on the disaster of his first marriage just minutes away from his second. A failed writer’s struggle with depression threatens to ruin the one good thing in her life—her wife.

Starring Bjorn Anders, Sara Glauser, James Lee, Maddy Nibble

Next Friday, come enjoy a piece I’ve been working on, no joke, for over a decade. A labor of love about labors of love, it’s funny, anxious, and vulnerable.

And at under 90 minutes, it’s also brisk!

I had another good month. Is that allowed? 😅🌱
.
Still plenty of work ahead, and messages to catch up on. But yeah, into it. 🌟

June was just good. Not a highlight reel for once, but wee snippets of all the good. Still working on a lot and not really up for messages, but getting to know myself a little better lately and feeling hopeful looking ahead 🌟

🪿🪿ALRIGHT YOU NASTY DOGS, YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TIME IT IS🪿🪿

Huge love to @theensemble for letting us Scramble this Goose yet again! And a heartfelt thank you to @sashabailey for inviting me in to co-direct, it's been an absolute delight. To the many designers, technicians, producers, and Geese that scrambled with us, it's been an honor - and also a damn good time

Let's roll one last dog for the road🌭
