Friends!  We welcome you to our very first house concert at our humble abode WILDLIGHT. TICKETS are in my bio! Showcasing two of our favourite homegrown acts - Shannon ‘Sol’ Carroll & Oj Newcomb, and Katie Milae.  Set in for an evening of folk, country, roots, reggae and funk, an experience sure to take you on a journey of storytelling songs and funky grooves.  We start the night with Katie, sharing her unique voice and authentic sound, and finish with the energetic groove of the dynamic duo of Shannon & OJ, also well known from their ‘Band of Frequencies’ (who are playing at Woodford Folk Fest this year).  Where is it? Nestled in the hills of Kin Kin, we welcome you to our 6 acres, 12 chickens, one dog, two domes and a big hug. We are excited to share our beautiful space, a truly unique and mesmerising home. Specifically, this is a geodesic dome house, and the acoustics are unbelievable. Expect a warm environment, bring your pillows, blankets and nestle in under the cosy feel of the dome while you take in the soothing and groovy sounds of our feature acts.  Be sure to get in quick! Tickets are capped at 55 as space is limited. See you there, much love! 🫶🎶🌿

6 sleeps to go… we can’t wait to see @okatiemilae! Have you heard her latest single ‘Darlin’?! ‘Darlin” was inspired by a Tarot reading that foretold an unexpected path and hinted at a destiny yet to unfold. Beneath the cards lay a timeless message: to trust the unknown, embrace life’s twists, and keep moving forward with faith. While born from one person’s experience, the song speaks to a universal journey of hope, resilience, and surrender to whatever comes next. Built around earthy guitars, banjo, organic percussion and Katie Milae’s soul-stirring vocal, Darlin transforms the uncertainty of a tarot reading into an uplifting desert-folk anthem about trusting the unknown. The single arrives following Katie’s independently booked three-month Australian tour, which covered more than 10,000 kilometres and included appearances at Townsville Folk Festival, Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival and Goodness Me Festival, a support performance for Ash Grunwald and a sold-out hometown house concert.

One song. One lunch break. A touring partnership. Katie Milae invited Nuraini to play bass on a song during a trip to Townsville. Over a lunch break, Katie says, Nu learnt the bass parts for almost the whole set. They’ve been taking their music down the road together since. The Sunshine Coast artists joined Arts Garden during their South Australian visit to talk about the less glamorous craft of touring: lining up venues without zigzagging across the country, choosing people you can live alongside, and occasionally remembering to stop talking. Their playlists take turns, too. Katie’s country-folk choices have led Nu towards cowboy boots. Nu’s music sends Katie somewhere she wouldn’t normally go. They’re hoping to find time to turn that exchange into writing together, with a European tour also in their plans for next year. For now, the room matters. Katie prefers being close enough to meet people and see their faces. They look for venues that genuinely care about hosting artists. “We don’t wanna be background music.” We also heard Nuraini’s ‘Movers of the Light’ from ‘Luna’. A story her auntie told her about manta rays became a metaphor for stepping into your power and letting your light show. 🎶 Katie Milae + Nuraini Saturday 17 October • The Joinery at Charlotte Dalton Wines, Port Elliot 🎶 Katie Milae Sunday 25 October • The Wild Folk at Soulhouse Social Club, Aldinga Nuraini returns home before this show.
