I don't easily get attached to characters so my choice wasn't too difficult.

1. Gale Hawthorne from the Hunger Games. He's loyal, strong, and brave. He was such an amazing friend and was family oriented. After Katniss was reaped, he promised to look after her family. Fun fact, I named my son after him 🫣

2. Atlas Corrigan from It ends/starts with us. It's hard not to admire a person who succeeds after everything he went through. He used his experiences as encouragement. He was Committed, compassionate, thoughtful, and caring, and protective. Everything a man should be.

3. Jase Ballenger from Vow/Dance of Thieves. He was family oriented, perceptive, very Protective over his loved ones, and stubborn. He didn't let Kazi's reputation from loving her immensely.

Reading back I realize my husband has all of these qualities and more. I married my perfect fictional character.

If you could live in a world... of any book you love.. where would it be?

I chose Harry Potter for this because I was supposed to be a wizard. Hogwarts was supposed to be my home. I was meant to be Gryffindor.

What about you?

As it begins to feel like fall the weather is perfect for reading. I snuggle up with a hot coffee and book in hand before everyone else in my home wakes up. Sometimes I daydream of living in a world with no chaos. No traffic or bills and so on. Maybe in the forest with the Cullens or camp half-blood. Maybe not district 12 🤭 Where would you want to live? Or perhaps just visit?

Messy Monday 🤪

Hi y’all! I hope you all had amazing weekends, this is a short week for me since I’m leaving Thursday morning for my dads birthday fishing trip and so this week is going to be a little chaotic for me! 😅

I don’t plan on getting a whole lot of reading done before I go, but hoping to finish In My Dreams I Hold a Knife and start Ugly Love once I’m on break 👏🏻

We only have a little bit of shady grass area that looks pretty in our yard right now, so I thought I’d better utilize and appreciate it!! The rest is brown and dead from the drought we seem to be having in eastern Iowa.

lately.. self care has been on the bottom of my list but i’m working it’s way back up to being a priority! i neglected myself for a while and now it’s time to put myself back up to the top and focus on me! self care can have so many different forms so please be sure to do what makes you feel good, happy, and secure!

Always love to see what everyone is reading! When I’m out and about in the world and see someone reading a book, I try to walk by at an angle so I can see the title😂 I have always found great reads by paying attention to what others are reading! One of the many reasons I love this Bookstagram community!

~Just finished a couple days ago. Kind of the Bookstagram darling right now. It’s sharp, clever, thought provoking, timely, and unique!

✨Now~ No Two Persons by Erica Bauermeister
~A few chapters in and I am loving this one so far! This is my first book by Erica Bauermeister and I can already tell that it won’t be my last!!

✨Next~ Love & Saffron by Kim Fay
~A nice little book about “friendship, food, and love.” Three of my favorite things!💜 Seems like a great summer read to me!

💜Stack for a Cause💜

May is Cystic Fibrosis awareness month. One of my favorite bookstagram friends, Liz @queencrimson11, has created the #purplebookstackforcf to support raising awareness and funds for cystic fibrosis. Liz is a mental care health provider who works with people affected by CF, so this cause is very dear to her. This is Liz’s second year doing this stack for a cause and I am honored to be tagged by her this year!

Cystic fibrosis is a rare life shortening, genetic disorder that affects approximately 40,000 people in the United States. It affects mostly lungs, but also the pancreas, liver, kidneys, bones, and even the sinuses. Recently, there have been incredible advancements in treatment for people with CF. Yet, the life expectancy for someone with CF is still only 42 to 50 years old. There is no cure and people living with CF face many challenges in their daily lives. Research and many advancements in treatment are being made and Liz would like to help through her Bookstagram account by donating $5 to her favorite CF organization, CFRI @cfri.curecf for every purple bookstack posted this month.
