Wow! Our 2nd annual Last Looks Mentee/Mentor Meet up in LA!
An opportunity for our mentees and mentors to mingle and build community. Our wonderful mentors Angela, Arlene, Margaret, Marva, Heba & Nana were part of an informative Q&A panel and everyone got to take home a little goodie bag to help build their kit 💕

Today, we’re highlighting one of our makeup artists, @okokabii , who is helping bring authenticity and detail to our Afghanistan scene in Anodynus.

Abigail grew up in South Florida and discovered her passion for film makeup after attending the Academy of Glam in 2021 and completing Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles in 2023. Since then, she’s embraced the art of storytelling through makeup, whether beauty, gore, or character design.

“I’ve always loved makeup, film, and telling stories. The best part of this work is the collaborative process — getting to create alongside such talented people and making something bigger than yourself. I’m honored to be a part of Anodynus, especially since I have friends and family who have served in the U.S. military. This project feels deeply meaningful to me.”

We’re so grateful to have Abigail on our team. Her artistry and dedication are helping us bring realism and humanity to this story.

It’s been a while but I graduated from Cinema Makeup School👩🏻‍🎓❤️It was my dream school that I’ve been wanted to go since when I was 12. And I did it!!!
It can’t fit in the only one post with 10 pictures… I have so many memories from the days I spent with my family from CMS.
For my soulmates as my classmates, the days I got through and helped each other with you guys are irreplaceable to me. I’m so grateful and lucky that I could have you guys as my classmates.
Special thanks for all instructors. You guys showed and taught me things that I couldn't see or make if I was in back home. I would never forget my student life in CMS and wish all the best for all my CMS family🫰🏼
Also thank you for my parents for supporting and believing me.

先日、アメリカの学校を卒業したことをご報告させていただきます🎓！
入学手続きから全て1人手探りで、英語も喋れないまま1人見学へ行き、何とか入学に漕ぎつけ渡米した2020年。夢の学校生活が始まり2週間でパンデミック、強制帰国を強いられて呆気なく帰国。途方に暮れ目標も見失いつつあった2年間でしたが、諦めず昨年2022に再渡米、今年2023年に卒業することが出来ました。
言葉の壁は1番大きく、思うように行かない事しかなかったけど、毎日助け合ったクラスメイト、私を信じて送り出してくれた家族には感謝しかありません。
まだまだ未熟ですが、まだまだ目標だらけなので一つ一つ達成できるよう頑張ります。ので暖かく見守って下さると嬉しいです🫶🏼
