Want better precision with your Grimoire project? Ironing is key! I love having an iron right by my sewing machine, especially for tiny piecing and FPP. My two Oliso irons were such a big help in achieving this, which is why we *absolutely* had to have some for our giveaway!

Our friends from @olisohome were so generous to sponsor TWO irons for our sewalong! We are raffling away an Oliso Mini M3 Project Iron TODAY - make sure to post and comment in this week’s *giveaway post* (not this post) before 3PM EST with this week’s progress!

Oliso is also sponsoring a TG1600 Pro Plus iron as a grand prize! To be eligible for a grand prize, you must post for each of the 5 week’s prompts.

Still want to join the sewalong? Comment GRIMOIRE to get a link to the pattern!

Good luck to all our sewalong participants and thank you again to Oliso for making our sewing process LITERALLY so smooth ❤️

This lovely featured sword block was designed by @palm__creations !

Confess; do you press all your seams when making costumes? I think it’s important! I sew a lot and therefore iron a lot of fabric yardage, and using an iron that pops up by itself has saved me a lot of wrist fatigue. I’ve been using an @olisohome Smart Iron for 5 years and recently upgraded. You know I love purple and pink so I’m delighted that Oliso sent me the entire @yayahan Cherry Blossom collection: the ProPlus iron with the auto-lift technology, the M3Pro project iron, a carrying case, ironing board cover, pressing cloth, and some wool mats. I put it all on the pink metal cart I keep in my sewing room for all my ironing things including a tailor’s ham, spray bottle, and beakers to fill the irons. #sewing

Could a new search finally solve the mystery of Amelia Earhart’s missing ✈️ plane?

I’ve always been fascinated by Amelia, and I love the thought of sewing 🧵 being part of her life, even as she took on extraordinary adventures.

I’m sharing the story of Amelia’s sewing box, along with other treasures from my collection and a glimpse of her fabulous fashions on my blog.

I’m also thinking about curating a collection of sewing patterns inspired by Amelia. Would you be interested?

Visit the link in bio to visit my blog and read more about Amelia!

The Nutcracker Book Blog Tour Begins!

My very first book, The Nutcracker, is here, and I am so excited to celebrate with a special Nutcracker Book Blog Tour!

Over the next few months, a wonderful group of creative makers will be choosing projects from the book and making them their own. From quilts and dolls to appliqué projects and Christmas keepsakes, I cannot wait for you to see how each maker brings their own creativity to the pages of The Nutcracker.

The tour begins October 7, with a new maker joining us each Wednesday through December 23.

I have shared the full schedule on the Sew A Story blog, along with a little more about the book and the story behind it. We will also be adding links to each maker’s project as the tour continues.

Follow the Nutcracker Book Blog Tour here:

I am so grateful to all of the makers joining me for this celebration, and I cannot wait to see what they create!

Proof that you don’t need a big, fancy sewing room to make beautiful things! 🪡🤍

As someone who does ALL of her sewing at the kitchen table, I’ve learned to get a little creative when it comes to making the most of a small workspace!

My ironing board doubles as extra workspace, my @olisohome irons are some of my favorite sewing tools (and totally worth upgrading to!), my @thegypsyquilter wool pressing mat is my bestie and my latest little hack might be my favorite yet!

I found these suction cup clips and realized I could turn the mirror above my ironing board into a makeshift design wall! They stick right to the glass, hold my quilt blocks beautifully, and can be moved around or taken down whenever I need to. You could do the exact same thing with a window, too! I linked them in my bio if you’re interested!

Would I love to have a dedicated sewing room someday? Absolutely. But for now, I’m learning to make the most of the space I have, and honestly, there’s something really special about that. 🤎 What are some of your favorite space-saving sewing hacks? I’d love to hear them! 🫶🏼

She’s done!!! (kinda) I finished piecing my scrappy mosaic improv quilt, and here’s a little bit of the process. Its just a small-ish size as a wall hanging. decided to hand-quilt it using big-stitch quilting, so that will take much longer. I’m so excited with the outcome 🥰 iron: @olisohome M3 Pro
