Year three of Know Other Festival. I did not choose this but I am not giving it back either.

Nobody tells you that leadership in queer community means cease and desist letters stack up right next to your to do list. That lawsuits become background noise while you smile and build and protect the joy your people deserve. That the pressure is constant and the breaks are few and you do it anyway because who else is going to.

I did not raise my hand for this version of the job. The community just kept trusting me and at some point trust becomes a calling.

So I answered.

These faces right here. In the sand, in the cold, in the chaos. They showed up because they believe in something. I refuse to be the reason that belief dies.

Know Other is year three because queer joy does not negotiate with opposition. It just keeps building.

Still here. Still leading. Come find us.

KOF doesn’t just happen.
It’s built.

By our staff.
The ones behind the late nights, the early mornings, the details you never see, and the care you always feel.

We are deeply grateful for the venue staff, our attendees, partners, volunteers, facilitators, and talent who bring this space to life.

But this moment is for the ones who hold it all together.

The souls behind the build.
The reason this space exists.

We felt it in every moment.

We’ll see you in 2027. 🤍

Another amazing tourney in the books for the Bandits!! We couldn’t fit all of the hilarious pictures so this is just a taste of our Vegas experience 😆. Can’t say enough wonderful things about this very inclusive and welcoming tournament. Thank you @california_hockey_productions for another great run! And thank you @mandalorian_hockey_club for sharing the ice and the fun vibes with us again 🫶🏒🏒🏒🍪#norcalbiscuitbandits #hockey #biscuitbandits #womenshockey #lasvegaswomenshockeyclassic

Received our “flowers” 💐 aka got promoted to our 2nd degree on our black belts 🖤🖤 last Wednesday, 8/20/25 💫

Let’s 🌮 bout it real quick..

Special thanks to @baemjiujitsu @jgacademy.losaltos and of course our tiny but hella mighty (and growing) team @excelsiorsf_jiujitsu ❤️ so much gratitude beyond words for each person who has made any positive impact, past and present.

17 yrs in the game, always a student first. My heart belongs to jiu-jitsu and @marts1111 ❤️‍🔥 my partner in crime and life; we make a great team and our family is forever grateful to have this platform and privilege.

Gi or no gi, guard pull or take down, throughout the highs, lows, in betweens and “rest days”, there’s just so much to learn, unlearn and integrate into life. This is our playground, our school, craft ~ what we do best and have simply grown to love. And there’s always more than what meets the eye 😉

The journey continues and it’s worth it ♾️
