Fantastic evening at the Annual DGA Meeting! One of my favorite parts is reconnecting with people I haven’t worked with in over 20 years and celebrating the incredible talent that makes our industry so special. @christophernolann is absolutely crushing it as DGA President, and I’m deeply grateful to the Negotiations Committee for their tireless efforts in securing our new contract agreement. Proud to be part of this union and this community. 🎬✨ #DGA #FilmIndustry #DirectorsGuild

“Soylent Green is people!”
The iconic line from #richardfleischer’s #soylentgreen 1973 is one of the great high points (or is that low points?) of dystopian
70s cinema
There was a time when Hollywood put all of its considerable resources - and often #charltonheston - into some of the bleakest stories ever told — and pumped out commercial hits every one of ‘em It never got bleaker or more nihilistic than this extraordinary film, with a stunning end-of-career turn from silver screen legend #edwardgrobinson #tensecondepiphanies

KRISTY (2014)
Regia: Oliver Blackburn

Still in the afterglow of our trip to London and screenings of Gas Food Lodging and Mi Vida Loca at @icalondon hosted by @lostreelsuk. So thrilled to have so many friends there, many who worked on the films: my producer Dan Hassid who did both Q&As with me, dear Bumble Ward our publicist who did the impossible for me on Mi Vida Loca and also from both movies my editor Tracy Granger and my production designer Jane Stewart from both films. Thank you all for being there ! Thank you friends and two former students David Martinez and Vanessa Fernandez one Mexican, one Chicana both killing it as film programmers in London! 💕 and it was way cool that my daughter Tiffany’s English dad Phil White came to London for Mi Vida Loca because in 1973 he took me to a movie at ICA and bought me my first ever espresso at the cafe there. Full circle and thank you Bumble for buying me one to keep up the tradition! I dedicate it all to my longtime friend Mary Buxton who had planned to come but couldn’t be with us and sent many wonderful friends in her place. Love you Mary❤️❤️

When most people think of Thanksgiving movies, they picture cozy comedies, heartfelt family dramas, or something with Charlie Brown and Linus. But hidden in the shadows of all that holiday cheer is #Kristy — a lean, mean little thriller that more people need to know about.

Set on a deserted college campus over Thanksgiving break, this one delivers serious tension with just the right amount of dread. It’s the kind of movie that makes the quiet feel dangerous — and it does it really well.

Haley Bennett (@halolorraine) is fantastic in the lead, and Ashley Greene (@ashleygreene) brings an unexpected edge. With Olly Blackburn (@ollyblackburn) behind the camera, Kristy nails that eerie atmosphere of being alone when you shouldn’t be. The pacing is tight, the scares are real, and the suspense is beautifully executed.

It’s the perfect post-dinner movie — you know, when you’re too full to move but not ready for a nap. Throw on Kristy, and you’ll be wide awake in no time. It’s creepy, clever, and criminally overlooked.

So this year, skip the leftovers and discover a movie that’s anything but a turkey. 🦃🔪
